"Time to get up!" I hear my mom yell from downstairs.
"It's only 11." When my mom didn't answer, I went downstairs anyways because I realized there was one day away until I went to camp. Wait I get to go on a plane! "Mom, I get to go on a plane right?"
"That's why I called you down here, we have to leave in two hours by car, you're packed right?"
"Yes!" I exclaim
"Someone's excited all of a sudden," I blush. "So what is it that made you like this?"
"Nothing." She smirked at me.
One hour later we got in the car and had a long drive to California. During the car ride my mom played all of Taylor Swift's cd's and we listened to the radio while talking to each other. We finally pulled up to the camp, I didn't realize that the camp was actually on the beach!. At the camp there were 13 cabins and a lot of palm trees. My mom got me signed in and then she kissed me goodbye.
I walked to the main building and there was a guy councilor named Ian checking people's bags. He was actually kind of cute besides the fact that he looked about ten years older than me. Then I realized oh shit, I brought thongs in my bag! Ian started looking through my bag and I looked down blushing. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him smiling and smirking. He hands me back my bag and he tells me to go to cabin thirteen. I walk to cabin 13 and there are already five other girls in the cabin plus two councilors named Nicole and Samantha.
"Hey!" says everybody from my cabin. I wave back. They are all playing cards on the floor of the cabin. There was a girl climbing down a ladder of the bunk bed, I was wrong there were six girls so far.
"Hi, I'm Emily." Says the girl that just got down from the bunk bed.
"Hey, I'm Andrea." I reply back with a smile.
"Do you want a top bunk or a bottom one?"
"Bottom please." I tell her, I don't really like top bunks because I'm afraid of falling, even though there's a railing.
"Kay, you can have this bed." I smile at her and put my stuff down on the bed. I decide to just talk to Emily instead of playing cards with the rest of the girls. They all introduced themselves to me after I unpacked everything.
"Hi I'm Liz."
"I'm Abigail."
"I'm Kayla." The list went on until I knew all of their names. Later four girls came in and we introduced ourselves again.
When I'm in bed reading a magazine I brought, Emily comes up to me and says "Hey, did you see that guy named Tristan? He is so cute oh my God." I smile at her.
"No but will I get to see him later?"
"Oh yeah a whole month of seeing him. Oh and by the way, he doesn't seem like my type from what I can tell." Emily tells me winking.
"Okay, more for me then." We both laugh. I hear a bell ring indicating that we have to go outside.
"Okay everybody." Shouts Ian, apparently he's the head councilor here at camp. "I'm going to put you all into teams, you will have other partners but these are your team mates for team activities. Alright starting with the purple team, Emily P, Greg V, Terry A, Beatrice P, Violet M, Tom B, Zach D, and Nate W." Ian said every team besides one, the green team, I don't remember if Ian called Tristan's name yet, I want to see what he looks like. "Now for the green team. Andrea S, Harry R. Morgan A, Logan F, Nikki W, Will K, Jenette M, and Christian A." Oh my God, he is so fucking HOT. Yes, he's on my team! "These are your teams for this month, you guys have thirty minutes to socialize with your team. Go."
I just stand there and wait for someone to come up to me since I'm pretty sure Christian will pick someone else to go to first.
I'm just looking around when I feel someone's hands cover my eyes. "Guess who?" I laugh.
"Um I don't know anybody yet." The mystery boy takes his hands off of my eyes and suddenly who it is isn't a mystery anymore.
"Hey, I'm Christian."
"Hi, I'm Andrea."
"It's nice to meet you Andrea."Christian smiles at me. "So where are you from?"
"Montana."
"Oh like Hannah Montana? YOU GET THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS." He sings in a fake girlish voice, I laugh.
"Yep just like that." I smile at him the whole time we talk.
"So do you know what we're going to be doing." He asks me.
"No." I answer him back.
"All I know is we're going to learn how to surf, they're also giving us music lessons if we want them, once a week, I'm going to take guitar."
"Oh, I didn't know that! I've been wanting to play guitar for such a long time, like ever since I was five."
"Awesome, how old are you right now?"
"I'm fifteen."
"Oh, okay I'm almost sixteen, like It's my birthday in two weeks."
"Yay I get to spend your birthday with you!" I exclaim.
"Yep. You know, you're, different." Christian tells me looking amused.
"Oh, God I'm sorry. God I screw everything up."
"No I meant it as a good thing."
"Oh, okay good." I giggle like a little girl. Then I hear the bell ring as a sign to go back to our cabins.
"I'll see you later." Christian takes my hand and puts it up to his lips, and then we start walking away from each other. I think I'm really looking forward to the rest of this month.
