Chapter 3

The next few weeks went by fast. Val and I texted all time and called when we could. I was flying out to LA tomorrow to see him and I couldn't wait. While in LA I also had some business meetings. So my manager was flying out a couple days after me to join me. She hadn't managed to get a copy of the music video but I knew I had to tell Val about it while I was out there. I didn't want him finding out when the video was released and fans went crazy. I double checked my luggage to make sure I had everything I would need packed. Once I was done I went to my living room and looked around, trying to decide what to do. I ordered food for dinner then grabbed my phone. Once plugging it in to charge I opened Instagram and went live. I waited a few minutes for people to join me.

"Hey guys! How's everyone?" I asked as I started to see people joining. "I'm just waiting for my food to be delivered so I thought I'd go live."

@ username: are you excited for LA?
@ username: she's coming to LA?!

I giggled to myself.

"Yes I'm going to LA. My flight is tomorrow morning. And yes I'm very excited. I get to see some old friends and I also have some excited work meetings while I'm there."

@ username: you should do a meet up!

"I totally would do a meet up. But if I have one I want everyone to be safe and I want to do it properly. So I won't be having one this trip. But maybe another time," I explained trying to ignore the swarms of comments asking if I was dating Liam. Apparently he had released a teaser of the music video on his channel. "Alright so I wasn't going to address this but so many of you are asking so I'll answer. No I'm not back with Liam. I was asked to dance in a music video and I said yes without knowing who the artist was. I didn't know that the video was for Liam's song until I got there the day of filming."

"When I found out the video was for Liam's new single it was too late to back out. That's completely unprofessional. And for some reason the director paired me with Liam." I changed the subject after that. I didn't want to talk about Liam anymore. I ended the love once my food arrived and ate my dinner. After eating I called Val.

"Hey V," I said smiling as I spoke.

"Hey Kris," he replied not sounding very happy.

"Everything okay?" I asked.

"Why are fans tweeting pictures of you looking extremely close with your ex? And why do they look recent?" I sighed softly.

"I was gonna talk to you about this when I came out there. Remember that music video shoot I had the day before our first date? Well it was for his new song. But when I accepted the job I didn't know that. By the time I found out I was on set. I couldn't back out without looking unprofessional. The dance was sexy and I got paired with Liam for some reason. The fans think we've gotten back together and we haven't. Also he released a teaser of the music video today apparently. That's where the pictures are coming from. I wanted to tell you in person. I didn't know he was gonna release a teaser the day before I flew out to see you," I explained hoping he wasn't mad.

"I just wish you would have told me sooner so I didn't find out like this," he replied.

"Me too. I didn't want you finding out this way V. I swear."

"Well I'm not happy about it but I understand why you didn't back out. You've always been like that."

"I just want to fly out tomorrow and have a good trip with you and not think about him. You're who I want to be with Val."
