Chapter 5

A few days after I got back was Andy's birthday. Fiona was throwing him a party with his friend since they were about to go on vacation with his family and they'd celebrate with them then. I got ready and went over early so I could help Fi set everything up. Once I got there I saw Liam carrying some trays into Andy and Fi's. I figured he would be here so it wasn't a surprise to see him.

"I got the door for you," I said as I got closer to him. I opened up the door so he could go in.

"Oh thanks Kristen," he replied as he walked in.

"No problem." I followed him inside and saw Fi setting up the drinks. "Hey Fi." She looked over.

"Hey Kris!"

"Need help with anything?" I offered.

"Could you hang some bunting and streamers? There's some on that table over there." She pointed to a table across the room.

"Yeah sure." I went and grabbed the bunting and some tape. I also grabbed a chair so I could reach higher. I hung everything help and helped Fi finish decorating. Just as we finished more people started to show up. Including Louis and Eleanor which made me really happy since I hadn't seen them in ages. As soon as I spotted them I went over. "Louis! Eleanor!" They looked over and grinned.

"Kristen!" Eleanor said. I hugged them both.

"Fiona said she invited you but I wasn't sure if you'd come," Louis said. I knew he meant because of Liam.

"Liam and I are adults. We can be civil so we can celebrate Andy's birthday. Plus, Fiona is my best friend. Liam isn't going to get in the way of me seeing her. She invited me so I came."

"Well I'm glad! I've missed you!" Eleanor said.

"I've missed you too! We need to hang out sometime. It's been far too long since I've seen you."

"Definitely!" I caught up with them and made plans with Eleanor to hang out soon. Then I went to grab some food since I was hungry.

"Kristen?" I heard Liam and turned.

"Yeah?" I asked not wanting a fight here.

"I owe you an apology. When I messaged you I was very drunk. I know that's no excuse. I was way out of line and I'm sorry," he said.

"I accept your apology Liam. Look I want to be friends or at least be able to be around each other so Fiona and Andy don't think they can't invite us both over. But that means no more drunk accusatory messages okay?" He nodded.

"So where's your boyfriend? Not trying to pry just curious."

"He's not my boyfriend and LA where he lives. He was an old friend who asked me on a date. We went on another when I was in LA but we both decided we're better as friends." He nodded again. "I watched the music video. As unhappy as I was with the situation it turned out well. And it's a good song."

"Thanks. I really appreciate you saying that." It was my turn to nod. Things were really awkward between us. It was like we didn't know how to talk to each other anymore.

"How's your family?"

"They're good. Ruth got married."

"I heard. I wanted to send a card but I didn't have her address. I'm happy for her. He seemed like a good guy when I met him."

"I could give you her address if you'd like?" I smiled.

"Yeah I would. Better late than never right?" We kept talking and slowly we became more relaxed with each other. It was so nice to genuinely talk to him again. The party went by quickly and soon people were leaving. I stayed behind along with Liam to help clean up. Andy enjoyed his party which was the whole point. I said good bye and started heading back to my car. I drove home and sat on my couch. I had some videos to edit so I decided to get started. Eventually I moved to my bed and fell asleep.

The next day I filmed a couple videos then went to the gym to work out. While I was there Eleanor texted asking if I wanted to meet for drinks that night. Since I was free I agreed. After the gym I went home and spent the rest of the day working. Around five I got ready to go out and left to meet Eleanor. She had beaten me to the bar and I waved when I spotted her. She waved back and I walked over. We exchanged pleasantries and I ordered a drink. We moved to a booth so we could talk and not be as concerned with other people listening in.

"So I saw you and Liam talking for awhile at the party."

"Yeah he apologized for being an ass about something a few weeks ago. Then we just kept talking. I think we might actually be able to be friends."

"Is that really what you want?" She asked giving me a look. I rolled my eyes.

"Yes Eleanor it's really what I want. Liam and I are better off as friends anyway."

"Why? Because then you can't get hurt?"

"Eleanor drop it please okay? I just want to be friends with him."

"Okay okay. What was he an ass about a few weeks ago?"

"He saw me on a date and messaged me demanding to know who he was. I refused and ended the conversation. He was apparently very drunk when he messaged me." She nodded. "What's Louis up to tonight?"

"He's facetiming Freddie and trying to deal with some stuff with Brianna," she explained. I nodded. Louis had mentioned yesterday he was back in London nearly full time for the time being because his mum was sick. I felt terrible for him. "Johanna wants to see Freddie but since she can't fly Freddie would have to come here."

"Is Brianna being a bitch about it?" She nodded. "Really? Lou's mum is very sick and wants to see her grandson. She's lucky I never actually met her or I'd go off on her."

"I want to but I know it probably won't help the situation so I just keep my mouth shut," she replied. I nodded. I could tell this was tough for her because she just wanted to help Lou. "So I was thinking of planning a girl's day with Adrienne and Celine. I think I might even reach out to Gigi and see if she wants to join. Want to tag along?"

"I don't know. I'm not girlfriend anymore."

"Um Adrienne still isn't a girlfriend because Harry won't get the nerve to finally ask her out. And Niall and Celine actually broke up."

"Wait what?! When? How didn't I know about this?"

"Um about two months ago. And they kept it super private. I don't even know the whole story. But come on. Please tag along."

"Sure if the other girls are in then yeah I'll join." She grinned.

"Great! It'll be like old times again! Sort of." I smiled back. I had really missed the other girls so it would be nice to see them again. After s couple hours we said goodbye and I went home for the night. It was nice reconnecting with old friends.

Hey guys!

I hope you've have a good week! I nearly forgot about this because I've had a crazy week at work. It's always nice when you run out of a lot of stuff you need. And then it doesn't show when you order it. But anyways, this was a nice break to help me relax.

Exciting news though... I'm 21 in two weeks! And since I'm American that means I can drink now! Yay! Well nearly yay. I'll still post a chapter on my birthday so don't worry.

Also Kristen and Liam are talking again! Yay!
