Mat Pat POV
"What if she doesn't come out?"
"What if she runs away?!"
"What if we do somthing wrong and she dies?"
I was pacing around the room, this was supposed to be a relaxing vacation and I've ruined it all!
"Matty, we'll be ok, it will be ok. We can figure it out." Steph put her hand on my shoulder to comfort me, but I knew she was just as afraid, if not more. So many things could go wrong. But we won't let that happen.
"I should go check on her," Steph said.
"No, we should wait, it won't hurt to wait."
So We waited for about an hour, finishing with a competitive round of flappy bird. The girl still hadn't come out, and we haven't heard any noise for a while, so I put my phone in my pocket and went into the room while Stephane waited in the kitchen. I peaked around the corner, and didn't see her anywhere, I checked under the bed, not there either. I felt a breeze on my neck, the window was open, I looked out and saw footprints in the sand. My god she had tried to run away again.
"STEPH! SHES GONE!" I yelled, I ran out of the room and out the door towards the beach, my wife not far behind me, I stood at the edge of the water, and spotted a figure a ways out to sea, not thinking, I swam after her. As a grown man, I was able to catch, up to her, I grasped her shoes collar, and she easily gave in due to exhaustion, and I swam back to shore, Steph came waist deep in the water to help me get her on the shore. She had passed out and we dragged her into the shade.
"I'll give her CPR, you call the police, maybe the cell service is working better now." Steph said to me,
I reached in my pocket, only to pull out my soaking wet phone. Water was pouring from every crack. There was no way it could work, so I tried to turn it on: and sure enough, nothing happened. I looked at Steph as she realized what had happened, and began to pull her wet phone out of her pocket and hand it to me. Dead in the water. We really were stranded.
