I really love this AU, if I'm being honest. I have so many ideas and I hope you guys are enjoying it. This kind of got a little sloppy toward the end, I think, but have some more of Dad Scott just trying to be the very best dad he can be.

-

Scott's attraction does not dwindle after that night. In fact, if anything, his obsession with his attractive nanny only gets worse. Bailey vocalizes her admiration openly for Mitch, only fueling the fire burning in Scott's chest when he thinks about him.

It's a Sunday morning when Scott plans an impromptu visit to the aquarium. Bailey is more a fan of zoos but with the chilly weather, he rathers they go to an indoor exhibit. When she catches wind that they're going to see the fishies, she begs Scott to bring Mitch along.

"Dada," she pouts as she chews on her chocolate chip pancake. It's their Sunday tradition - pancakes - and even though Scott is by far the least qualified chef, pancakes are something he can do, so he makes an effort to embrace their morning meal and spend quality time with his daughter, chomping down on fluffy pancakes. "Can we please bring Mishy?"

"Buttercup," Scott sighs. He hates to tell her no, barely ever can, but this is honestly too much. Mitch watches her five days a week and probably welcomes the two-day break where he has to deal with neither child nor her lovestruck father. "He's probably busy, and you'll see him tomorrow, anyway."

"But," she frowns, pushes the cut up pancakes around her plate. "Can we ask him, Dada? Please?"

Scott bites at his lip, knows he should tell her that it isn't a good idea but he finds himself nodding instead, reaching for his phone. "Finish your pancakes, Bailey. I'll go call him."

She gives him a bright toothy smile, bouncing in her seat as she pushes a forkful of pancakes into her mouth and hums happily.

Scott moves into the living room, stands just at the edge of the kitchen so that he can still hear Bailey but she won't hear much of him, and he dials Mitch's number.

"Hi?" Mitch answers after a few rings.

"Hey," Scott says quietly.

There's a moment of silence before Mitch presses, "is everything okay? Is there something wrong with Bailey?"

"What? Oh - no! Not at all!" Scott gasps, "Bailey is completely fine, I'm fine - everything is fine. She's just enjoying some pancakes."

"Ah, the legendary chocolate chip pancakes?"

Scott feels the blush creeping up his neck, and he's extremely glad that this is only a phone call. "You've heard about those?"

"Yeah," Mitch giggles quietly. "Bailey loves her Dada's pancakes. Whenever I try to make her breakfast she asks if you can make her pancakes instead."

"Oh my god," Scott laughs, his hand reaching up to cover the sound coming out of his mouth. "Sorry," Scott giggles softly, his hand still muffling his mouth.

"It's okay," Mitch breathes. There's a pause and then he adds, "if you and Bailey are okay, then why did you-?"

"Oh! I planned a spontaneous aquarium trip for later today. When Bailey found out, she - uh - she begged me to ask you to come with us. I told her that you're probably busy-"

"I'm not - I'd love to go with you two."

-

They pick Mitch up a bit after 2:30. Their original plan was to pick him up at 2:30, but trying to get Bailey into her car seat was a bit more difficult than Scott would like to admit. After he had managed to buckle her in, she had insisted that she needed to go back and bring her stuffed sea turtle along with her but, of course, when they had gone back into the house, it was nowhere to be found.
