The road to Texas burned in the memory of Rod.

It seeped into his brain, as the month of April filled his mind. He knew that Marjorie was one of the most exciting women he'd had met.

None of the other women wanted anything else except to be loved.

First dates came and went; second dates also came and went; third dates came and went, too. As for more dates...nothing happened.

He slept in his own bed after the Rodeo.

And, as he did so, he dreamt of Marjorie.

The swirling dust hit the Ranch.

He slept peacefully.

And so did his parents.

He didn't open the doors, nor windows.

Then, overnight, the heat vanished.

And everything returned to normal.
