|Rachel|
I smiled and waved as the loud sound of people screeching and applauding filled my ears. Flashes of cameras started to hurt my eyes, but I ignored it as I did many poses. I did my famous off the shoulder pose as a couple camera people came close to me. Every time I blinked now I could see a different colored shape. Here comes my morning migraine.
"Rachel! Come on there's a network that wants a quick interview," my manager Amy, said. She quickly guided me to a woman standing in front of a camera with a microphone in her hands. She smiled over at me and told me where to stand. I did as told, and the camera started to roll.
"Welcome back, I'm here on the red carpet for the Tony Awards with the lovely Rachel Berry!" She chirped, she looked over at me and smiled. "So Rachel, last year how did you feel about not winning the Tony?"
"I felt a little upset, but I also felt inspired, you know? Like I thought to myself, 'Okay sure I didn't win, but if I work twice as hard there's a higher chance of getting the award'. So here I am," I chuckled as she laughed along with me.
"Gosh isn't she so sweet? How are you feeling about this year?" She asked as she leaned the microphone over to me.
"I'm feeling good, you know? I think I have a good chance right now, you should've seen me when I found out I was nominated. Like ask Jessie I was over the moon about it, even if it was the second time it happened. I didn't care, if felt like the first time and it was just great," I laughed and she laughed as well.
"Where's the famous Jessie St.James?" She asked and I quickly looked around.
"I swear he was beside me a while ago," I joked and she laughed. She said some other things to the live viewers of the network before signing off. After that Amy moved me to different places for different interviews. Frankly I was getting tired of waking around, but I knew I couldn't disappoint anyone.
After about fifteen minutes I was able to spot Jessie, my current boyfriend. His curly brown hair was styled back, his tuxedo made him look handsome and professional. He was talking to an interviewer, so I decided not to intrude. Everything became a blur until I was seated inside the beautiful auditorium where the award ceremony was taking place.
Jessie sat beside me, his cologne filled my lungs as he hugged me. He held on to my hand throughout the ceremony, as speeches were being given and awards were being handed out to the winners.
My heart raced in my chest as my category came up. The beautiful woman at the center stage wore a beautiful black mermaid skirt dress that hugged her curves. Her silky black hair was curled and her green apple eyes sparkled under the stage lights.
"The nominated actresses on the musicals are as follows: Anne Hathaway on her one-woman show Annie!, and Rachel Berry on Jane Austen Sings. And the winner is... Anne Hathaway!"
My hand went limp, my eyes sting of unshed tears. I could feel Jessie's intense gaze on me, but I ignored it. I had every right to be upset, but it would be bad sportsmanship to be petty about it all. There's always next year...
"You're staying over at my place tonight," Jessie said softly but with finality. I slowly nodded as I clapped, and listened to the speech she had to give. Don't cry Rachel, don't cry.
