Afriad // The Neighborhood

The smell of mint engulfed me, and my eyes fluttered open. Draco and I were curled together on the small couch, his hands gripping my waist and my face against his chest. I looked up at the white-haired boy and smiled. He was so handsome all the time, but right now he was as cute as he could be. His face scrunched up a bit and I laid my head down again.

There was a feeling in my chest that was very familiar. It was the feeling I had already experienced the first time Draco pressed his lips against mine in the common room. I smiled again, but my thought was interrupted by the yawn of the handsome boy I was lying on.

"Morning." He said sleepily, bending down to kiss my forehead.

"Morning." I said, leaning up and kissing his lips. He smiled through the kiss and leaned away.

"I could get used to doing this...being with each other." My smile faded and my mind was suddenly engulfed in darkness.

I was surrounded by water, barley breathing. Grindylows swam around me as I was being pulled deeper into the seaweed forest. I emerged suddenly, spitting up water. The ground was cold, and the surroundings were dark.

Flashes of green light were flying, a crowd of skull masked people standing and watching while a faceless boy lies still and cold just some feet away

Flashes of green light were flying, a crowd of skull masked people standing and watching while a faceless boy lies still and cold just some feet away. Then screams; so much screaming. Voices of the dead filled the inside of my head.

"Bring my body back to my father!"

"Alya!" Draco shouted at me, pulling me from whatever realm I was in. I blinked a couple times, regaining my vision back. Draco looked at me wide eyed, throwing his dress robe from last night around my shoulders. I stared at him blankly. I had no idea what had just happened, nor did I have any idea how.

"Alya, what the bloody hell was that?" Draco questioned. I shook my head.

"I dont know..." I said softly. He cocked his head, and put his hand on my face.

"Come on...we have to tell someone." He said quietly. "I'll walk you to the common room. Get changed, and meet me in the owelry." I nodded. Draco kissed my lips, and then grabbed my hand.

"Come on." He said, guiding me stealthy through the halls. The sound of screaming still rang in my ears as we approached Salazar Slytherin.

"Password?" He asked. Draco and I both rolled our eyes.

"Mudblood." Draco and I said harmoniously. The door swung open slowly, then shut behind us as we stepped in.

"Ill meet you in the owelry in a bit...I'd like to shower". I mumbled. He nodded and kissed my head.

"I'll be on the top floor." He said, stepping into the corridor that led to the boys dormitory.

I walked up the stairs, vividly trying to remember every detail of whatever dream this was. I had had this recurring dream while sleeping, but it had never been so vivid, especially while I was awake.
