Slow Dancing In The Dark // Joji
"Kill the spare!" a snake like voiced hissed.
"NO!" I screamed and reached for the dark figure in front of me.
There was a bright green light, and a boy with no face fell to the floor.
"Alya, Alya wake up!" My eyes shot open to see Gemma Farley hovering over me.
I grunted and pulled the duvet over my head.
"Gemma please let me sleep." I groaned.
"Alya you were crying in your sleep." She said worried. I pulled the duvet off my head and looked around. I tried hard to remember my dream but I couldn't.
"You don't know what you're talking about, Farley." I warned. She folded her arms and scoffed.
"Your tough girl bullshit doesn't work with me, Callisto. You act like I haven't been living with you for the past four years." I slumped back in my bed. I put both my hands over my face. Gemma sat on the edge of my bed.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked. I sighed.
"It was just a bad dream." I stated simply. "What time is it?"
"Six o'clock." She said and I pulled the duvet over my head again.
"But it's Saturday!" I complained. "Doesn't that mean I get to sleep in?" Gemma laughed.
"You'd think. Dumbledore called a meeting in the great hall. Astoria came up and told me." She said, getting up and walking to the bathroom.
"You should start getting ready. Yule Ball is tonight!' She squealed. I smiled a bit, but it soon faded.
I had so much going on these past weeks, and I didn't know how much more I could take before I exploded. I missed Cedric, and I missed Draco. I knew it was a matter of time until Cedric and I spoke, but I hoped it was soon.
I ripped the covers off my lower half, and walked into the bathroom to shower. I ran a brush through my soaking wet hair, untangling the knots i knew would soon form again. Lots of color wasn't really my thing, so i stuck with an all black outfit consisting a skirt, knee highs, and a sweater.
I walked out of the dormitory to see Malfoy sitting in the breakfast nook I had fallen asleep in yesterday, and a very bored looking Blaise Zabini sitting on the couch reading.
Sometimes I wondered why Zabini wasn't dating anyone; he was a handsome guy. Dark, tall, mysterious; it suited him well. I walked directly out of the common room and into the hall, before I heard a voice calling my name.
"Callisto, wait up." Malfoy shouted, running up behind me, walking at my pace when be caughht up.
"Hey." He said breathlessly. I stared straight, trying hard to not make eye contact.
"Hello." I said nicely.
"Are you going to the Ball tonight?" He asked. I stopped in my tracks and whipped my head around.
"You know I am." I said, not amused with his small talk. He snorted.
"I never pictured you with Zabini. I mean-"I cut him off.
"At least Zabini had the guts to ask me." I said through my teeth. "Aren't you going with your girlfriend?"
"Pansy is not my girlfriend." He stated harshly.
"Yeah?" I questioned. "It seemed pretty clear you were more than friends when you were snogging her in the common room the other night." Draco stiffened. His eyes met with mine, but I hardened my gaze. I didn't want to fall under whatever spell Draco decided to put on me. Today was about Blaise and I, and I just wanted to have a good time.
