Alexandra's POV

The entire breakfast consisted of Talia, the King and the Queen talking about the arranged marriage, while shit-face and I are just eating our meal in an uncomfortable silence. Glancing at him, he eats like a freaking princess, like with the proper posture, chews with his mouth closed and everything, unlike some other guys. My glass fell to the floor due to my clumsy elbow while reaching for some bacon, but the oh-so-wonderful shit-face with fast reflexes was able to get it before it crashed on the floor. However, the commotion went unnoticed by the arguing royals in front of us, instead shit-face just gave me a warm smile, showing his perfect white teeth, that I'm sure a lot of women would be falling head over heels on. Of course he has perfect teeth. Damn it. What's not to like about this guy?

"We'll be having a celebration tomorrow night to welcome Prince Jacob in our kingdom. You must be there Natalia, that way the whole kingdom will see you two together and know their future rulers." The King said happily but Talia just remained quiet. Sensing her daughter's discomfort, the Queen spoke to Talia,

"Just think about it Natalia. Get to know him first, he's a good person for you. You're not even seeing anyone right now anyways, am I right?" the Queen asked Talia which caused my ears to perk up on their conversation. Talia just glanced nervously at shit-face and to me,

"N-no, I'm not seeing anyone right now." Talia said in a quiet voice looking anywhere else but me. Okay, that hurt me. I'm wounded.

"And yes, I'll try to get to know him." Talia continued still not making eye contact with me. Aaaand that killed me. Now, I'm dead. I have to get out of here, I can't tolerate this unsettling feeling inside me,

"Pardon me. I suddenly don't feel well. May I be excused, your highness?" I asked the King to which he just nodded in understanding,

"Is everything alright dear? Do you need someone to go with you?" the Queen asked with a worried tone,

"N-no, I'll be fine. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast, your highness." I said with a smile to the Queen that didn't quite reach my eyes and walked away, not giving Talia a glance but I can feel her blue eyes on me as I got up and walked away.

Why am I feeling like this? I am not supposed to feel anything for her. I'm planning to kill her for fuck's sake. I have no obligation to Talia nor am I going to. She will hate me and despise me for the rest of her life if she finds out about what I was really doing here. If she finds out. Shit. Leo. I need to talk to him. I still need to figure out how I'm going to break them out of here or he'll start talking. I was about to start walking towards the dungeon when a familiar voice called out my name,

"Alex! Wait!" I turned to see the familiar blonde who has caused turmoil in my heart,

"Yes Princess?" I asked with a formal tone when she reached me. She cocked her brow at my change in attitude,

"Can I explain what happened earlier?" She asked nervously,

"There's nothing to explain Princess. You're to be wed to Prince shi- Jacob and join your houses. Therefore, solidifying the alliance between your Kingdoms. I completely understand, Princess." I said to her without a hint of emotion and speaking to her in the same tone as a servant would talk to her master.

"N-no, it's not like that Alex. I--"she continued with pleading eyes but I interrupted her,

"You don't need to explain Princess. You're not mine and I'm not yours." I said to her still keeping my façade that what I'm saying is not hurting me. But it did, it fucking hurt like hell. It's not the same for her though, she did not bother to hide the hurt in her eyes and face. After seeing what I caused her with my words, I couldn't take it anymore and just walked away. She didn't follow me this time. I was walking towards the dungeon when I felt the first few tears that managed to escape my eyes.
