Hospital…

“I saw it. I saw him taking the blood bags and walking out using the back door.” The first man said.

“How did it look like?” The second voice was a little bit grumpy.

“Tall, silky black hair. He was wearing a hood. I—I can identify him when I see him again.”

“What are you suggesting, Ryan? Waiting for him to come back here?” The third voice retorted.

“Calm down, Joseph.” The second man was tapping the dark silhouette of Joseph. “We still don’t - “ He wanted to say something, but Joseph cut it.

“He is definitely one of them. There’s no more doubt! What other reason to stole a blood bag from the hospital, Ethan?” Joseph threw a disgusting look to his friend.

Both of them stayed silent for a while. Ryan was the first to speak.”We just to have to make sure, before deciding anything.”

Joseph didn’t answer, he scoffed and shook his head in disbelief of his fellow mates reaction.

“What if he isn’t alone?” Ethan supported Ryan.

“He is definitely alone!” Joseph snapped at them.”He only took three blood bags, it was more than enough for him alone, and also he is definitely staying in the town. He wouldn’t need to feed if he didn’t want to stay here.” He lit up his cigarette. The flame of the matches illuminating the dark and medicines scent room. They were wearing the same white coat—doctor’s coat. Ryan and Ethan were sharing the confused look, while Joseph, only anger could be spotted on his face. Ethan was the tallest among them, he had blonde hair, a scar on the right cheek—something like a dog did it to him. Ryan had black hair with gray eyes covered by thick glasses. While Joseph was bald, he had big nose, his emerald green eyes were piercing the tiny flame of fire before putting it off and darkness swallow them again.

“I thought they didn’t exist anymore.” Ryan whispered to Ethan, too scared to be heard by Joseph, but sadly he did.

Joseph’s mocking laugh echoed around the room. “You definitely need to take special class about vampirism, Ryan.”

Ethan quickly cut them.”But it was 1920 when the last vampire was killed by the witches family, right?” He looked up at both of his partners.

“The last in Madison.” Joseph corrected him.”There are millions of them worldwide, that’s why hunters like us still exist. Remember what happened to the Terrance’s couple?”

“Terrance? Who?” Ryan asked, seeming like he was the blondie not Ethan.

“Do you know the motel few blocks from here? His son.” Ethan explained.

“Oh.” Ryan nodded quickly.”But it was an animal attack, wasn’t it? That’s what it was written in the papers and their parents were saying the same.”

“Damit,Ryan! Why on earth would you believe an old man?” Joseph’s patience started to wear off.

“Calm down. Both of you! It’s not the time for fighting and lecturing.” Ethan stepped between them, his head was moving from Joseph to Ryan.”We have to find him that is our main concern.”

“You don’t have to remind me.” Joseph scoffed.”He is still in this town, but our time isn’t that much.”

Back to the Meadow…

Talia followed his sight up to the sky for few minutes.”I don’t remember anything about you.” She said lowly. Leon quickly moved down his eyes to her figure.”I don’t remember anything, about how we met. Why should I believe you?” Talia added and replied to his look. His eyes were so calm and deep.

Leon laughed.”You won’t be here sitting with me if you didn’t believe me right?” He answered her question with another question.

Talia smiled softly.”You are ignoring my questions.”

Leon kept silent. What should he say? The truth? No way. It was too early for that, and she wouldn’t believe him either. He looked down at the ground. He couldn’t say the lie while looking at those beautiful hazel eyes of Talia’s.”It’s a long story.”

“It’s still morning.”Talia replied, the curiosity heightening inside her.

What happened to me? He thought. Lying is one of my abilities; I could easily throw one, but why not now? Leon scolded himself.

“It was three years ago.” He began. He glanced up at Talia, that girl was listening attentively. She really wanted to know, didn’t she?

“We met three years ago on a train.” He licked his low lips and pressed it together until it was just a bare thin line.”I wanted to visit my friends here, while you and your sister, I think you were visiting someone here.”

Reality struck Talia, “Are you sure it’s me, not Selena you want to meet?” she questioned him

“No. No. It’s you. I clearly remember your name, Talia.” He laughed and shook his head calmly.

“Ah...” She nodded; it seemed to make sense but didn’t bring up any memories of the train or him.”Now it wasn’t a long story, was it?” she chuckled.

“I guess not.” Leon glanced up at her and they laughed together. They talked until the sun reached the top, showing it was almost twelve.

“Want to have lunch with me?” Leon asked her with a wide smile all over his face.

Without hesitation, Talia nodded.
