New York

"Flet, Une Vente! Flans Saltatio Pulverea!" there was a voice, softly faded into the darkness.

“Your blood, Leon.” The girl instructed.

Leon extended his hand, and the girl picked the knife, brought it down to his arm. Slowly but surely she grazed the pale hand. As the droplets of blood fell the candles lit aflame. There was a sudden  golden lights all over the room—well it was the kitchen actually. There were only two people over there.

A guy and a girl. Assuming by what the girl called him, Leon was his name, tall and built body. Even in the lights, his skin looked paler than the girl’s. In a glance, he looked like twenty three years old guy. The girl looked younger than him, two or three years younger. Her sun kissed curls rested above his shoulder.

Leon rested his wounded hand on the table, he didn’t bother to look for a bandage. He didn’t so, the wound cured itself instantly.

“Did you find her?” He asked, but no answer was coming from the girl.”Chloe, Did you find her? Did you find Talia? Where is she?” Obviously he has no patience.

Chloe finally opened her eyelids, revealing her big hazel eyes, she narrowed Leon for a moment before looking down at the map. The droplets of blood that had stained the map now were gathering into one spot of the map.

“Decatur,Georgia.” They said together,

A wide grin could be captured all over Leon’s face, excitement.”Thank you so much. Chloe.” He took his phone and dialed number

She shrugged,”So what’s now?” asked the red-haired girl.

Leon frowned, as if it was one of the stupidest question he ever heard.”I’m going there.”

Her eyes widened in disbelieve.”But—“ Leon cut her

“I need a flight ticket to Georgia tonight.” He spoke through his phone, and there were few seconds of silence before he continued.”No,no, I don’t mind flying in economic class. I NEED the ticket, can you arrange that for me?” He tapped his fingers on the table, a way to keep himself calm.”Okay, alright, I’ll be there in one hour. Thank you, Rick.” Leon hung his phone. He stood up and walked out from the kitchen.

“Are you serious about this?” Chloe stormed behind him. “Leon, I’m talking to you!” She added irritatingly.

“And what do you expect me to do, Chloe?” He turned back to face her.”This is my only chance. Well, my second chance. I’m not gonna let it go just like that.” He said as walked passing the main hall to his bedroom and Chloe was following him like a lost puppy.

Leon put a large backpack on the top of his bed. He opened his wardrobe and put his clothes inside the briefcase.

“But it has been 86 years.” Chloe voiced again. She leaned herself beside his room’s door while crossing her arms.

Leon just shook his head and kept putting some more clothes in.

“You know, she may not even remember you anymore.”She bit her low lip

He scoffed.”She has no more memories about me.” His voice was calm.”Another reason why I have to meet her. I left a lots of things unsaid, I need to fix it.” Leon said as he zipped his backpack.

She sighed and shook her head,”What about Selena? She is a great witch. Hell the greatest witch I ever heard about.”

“She had her chance to kill me before.” Leon answered her flatly.”I don’t care about her. After all she still needs me, she won’t kill me—yet.” He opened his drawer and took his car key.

He took his backpack and hung it on his shoulder.

“But still—“ Chloe spoke as he walked passing her.

Leon stopped in front of her and smiled.”Do me a favor. Please don’t be clumsy while I’m not here.” He chuckled softly and poked her nose.

Chloe laughed and nodded.”Don’t worry, I’ll stop hugging the floor by now.”

They laughed together.

“Can I come with you the airport?” She asked him. Chloe looked less worry than earlier.

“Nah, you don’t have to. I can go alone and also there are too many spies out there.” He said.

“Thank you so much, Chloe.” He gave her a goodbye bear hug.

40 minutes later…

Leon got out from his silver benz. Hungging the backpack on his left shoulder, he left his car parked and got inside the airport. It was crowded as usual. Someone tapped his shoulder, Leon quickly turned back, a middle aged man with silky black hair and a glasses covering his black eyes.

“Hey Rick.” He hugged the other guy.

Rick returned his hug,”How are you, man? Here’s your ticket.” He passed the ticket to Leon.

“I’m good, as always.” He laughed and took the ticket. He checked the boarding time, it was 20 minutes more to be closed.

“Well, I wish we could talk more, but you have a flight to catch.” Rick chuckled.”Hope I’ll see you soon and good luck with whatever you are going to do in Georgia.”

“Yeah, thanks man. I’ll call some time soon.” He grinned widely and gave the goodbye hug to Rick too.

“Well I hope it won’t be for another flight ticket.” Rick laughed and waved goodbye at Leon.

He entered the security search minutes later before finally got into the flight. He got the middle seat, 26A. It was the first time for him to fly in the economy class, but it wasn’t a big deal. What awaited for him in Decatur was.

And the flight departed, his mind was travelling along with the sky night of New York. There was only one echoing in his mind, Talia. He knew the risk of meeting her again, especially after eighty six years. There wouldn’t be any memories of him with her. He has to start new. It wouldn’t be as hard as he lived without her. But what if Chloe was right? Selena would be his hardest exam, she wouldn’t let him near her again. Or what if the love Talia felt for him was just a lie, could he handle and change that?
