Chapter Fourteen
Ahadi's Reign

It was late at night, the stars had already departed from the sky, and you could even see the sky greying at the horizon. The lionesses prowled the edge of the Smoking Mountains, carefully looking for anything that might prove a danger. Of course she thought that she and her group were the only ones stupid enough to venture into the Smoking Mountains. Still, her brother demanded that they patrol.

Hasira had one of those personalities where she was never quite pleased with anything. She always looked bothered over something. Her brows were arched thinly over her currant red eyes, and her pelt was a penny brown, and her underbelly was a tan color. She hated her pelt color, it reminded her too much of her mother. She longed for her brother's pelt color, which was light brown after their father. Kuzimu also had a carob brown mane that would be easily admirable of any lion.

After an irritated roll of her eyes, Hasira headed back into the Smoking Mountain. She hated the hot springs that constantly went off around them. They emitted steam, which made it slightly uncomfortable, although it wasn't unlivable. Kuzimu was sitting protectively next to a sleeping Azola. He greatly admired his mate, she was beautiful. She had a tawny pelt, and her underbelly was slightly lighter. The real jewel she possessed, however, were her eyes. They were a most phenomenally beautiful shade of azure blue. Hasira peeked into Azola's paws where two tiny cubs rested sleepily. Hasira smiled slightly at her nephews.
