Chapter 4
Hopper was lying in my cupped hands breathing heavily letting out the occasional squeak.
'Shhhh.' I quietly stroked his fur as I walked over the the ground men's shed.
'Hey Rosie whatcha doin?' my friend Lily was walking to the sports shed for physical education.
'Stealing tools so I can murder everyone in the school, jokes, I'm taking a mouse to the ground keeper.'
'OMG that's the mouse that got out of the science lab this morning! everyone was screaming and jumping on desks!' Lily was staring gobsmacked at the mouse. 'He was going to be dissected by some year eights in block 4.'
'Well I'm glad I'm not in year eight, having dissections right before lunch would put me off eating meat for life!' Being the person I am, I almost drop Hopper, exclaim 'shit!' Quietly before saying goodbye to lily.
'Hey Rose!' I turn around and see James and Carmen walking over to me, well very slow jogging describes what they were doing better.
'Hey, Carmen you know about Hopper?' I look over at James quickly as I ask just to make sure.
'Yeah, the poor thing. is it alright?' I open my hands for Carmen to see Hopper still gasping for air.
'Hey, um, Rose, you know how Mrs White said that the grounds keeper would 'fix him up?' James is trying not to look at Hopper or me as he's talking.
'I'm sorry who's mrs White again?' I'm really bad with remembering teachers names.
'the lady that told you where to take Hopper, duh, even I know that!'
'Carmen, you only know that because I told you!'
'Yeh but still I-'
Growing impatient and stepping between the two of them 'Woah both of you stop! James your point is?'
He took a deep breath before muttering 'their going to put him out of his misery, their going to kill him Rose.'
