" I would pack those hiking boots over there." Jc told me through the phone. I nodded & went to grab them to store in my pack. Me & Jc had been on the phone for hours putting together everything I would need for the U.S. I didn't need to bring anything like desks, lights, or dressers. Jc told me him & Harrison already had put all of that together in Franny's room.

After a torturous amount of time packing, I changed into some black satin pajama pants, a plain white tee, & threw my hair up into a messy bun. I sat on my bed & sighed. I was still on the line with Jc so I asked,

" Jc." I whispered softly, the rest of my family was asleep. My mom was completely wiped out from helping me put the passport together all day. My parents & siblings wished me their goodbyes earlier so they would be able to get some sleep.

" Yeah Desire?" He asked me, you could tell by the tone of his voice he was exhausted. " Do you think everyone in the house is going to like me?" I asked him in a seriously concerned voice. He snickered a bit & told me, " Desire, what kind of question is that? I already know they're gonna love your ass."

I smirked a tad & exclaimed, "Are you sure about that?" Jc sighed,

" Oh please, we are talking about the people I've been friends with since high school. & knowing the both of you I can already tell y'all will get along great, I promise." I smiled & paused to look at the time.

It was 3:30 in the morning. " Alright Mr. Sleepy pants, I'm gonna head to the airport alright? You get some rest. I don't want you pooped out when I get there already haha." I told him. He sounded hesitant but ended up agreeing, "Okay, goodnight Dessy. Have a safe flight. We'll be waiting for you. "

I said my goodbyes, took my suitcases, & walked to the doorway of my room. I turned around and looked back at the empty room. It felt so weird looking at the walls so vacant. No fan drawings that were now tucked into a pocket of one of my bags,

no backdrop, and no bedding. Just a room. I smiled at all the memories I made in that room, I couldn't help but feel a little tug at my heart, but I ignored it. It was time to move onto bigger & better things in life.

I turned back to the front of the doorway, grabbed all my bags, and walked right of the room with my phone necessities & a bottle of water in tow.

As I walked to the door, I saw the little picture bulletin board my mom insisted on putting up for memories. I peered over at them for a quick second. One of the first pictures that had been pinned up there was a picture me & my sister when we were small.

It was one of those classic, embarrassing- your child-by-showing-a- picture-of-your-siblings-showering-together type of picture. We were like 3 of course. Despite it being a tad embarrassing, I smiled wide at all the memories that had been captured.

After a few minutes of me staring & reminiscing, I finally walked out the door, got in the car, & drove to the airport to catch my flight. My flight was scheduled at 5, & with the traffic here I always had to end up getting a couple hours of a head start.

Following a couple hours of angering traffic jams, I finally reached the airport & went to my terminal. I was just settling into one of the waiting seats when I heard,

Flight No. 568 your flight to L.A, U,S is boarding. I repeat, your flight is boarding.

Little did I know, that was the call to my future.
