"Go get Uncle Derek." Emory ordered, looking at the unconscious body in front of her.
"But Emory-" I was about to compromise with her but she cut me off.
"No! Go get him, now!" She shouted, tears streaming out of her eyes. I nodded and turned, running out of the room and to the lobby.
"Morgan!" I called when I saw him standing in the corner confused as to where we were, "Morgan!" I called again when he didn't hear me. He looked at me and ran to me.
"Where's Emory?" He asked, almost out of breath from whatever he had been doing, "Is she with him? Who is it?" He rambled on with questions, overwhelming me.
"Derek she's fine, she's with him. It's not her dad, but," I don't know how to tell him this. It's heartbreaking for me but I can't even imagine his pain.
"But what? Who is it?" He yelled, grabbing onto my shoulders.
"It's Fraser." His eyes softened. His face went blank. He went cold.
"Fraser?" Derek was broken. You could tell. He had sad eyes but he attempted to puff up his chest to give off the illusion that he was strong.
"Yes, room one fourteen," I told him, slightly jogging back to the room. When we got there, we heard talking. Emory was talking to Fraser. He was awake. Derek shoved the door open and saw his brother there smiling at Emory.
"Fraser, oh my God," Morgan ran up to him and engulfed him the best hug that he could. Emory stood up and walked over to me with tear stained cheeks.
"He's gonna be okay, Reid." She spoke softly, nestling into my side. I smiled and rubbed her should, not saying another word.
"Derek, I'm alright. I'm okay. Just going to get a few surgeries done." Fraser spoke weakly to his younger brother, a smile on his face.
"Who did this?" Morgan was angry now. His fists were clenched and his jaw tightened.
"I know exactly who it was," Fraser said, shocking the three of us, "and you do too."
"It was Kate."
Kate. I know that name. Blonde hair, green eyes, Derek's ex girlfriend.
"But, the woman was my girlfriend and we were at her apartment. She walks in, knocks some crap over, steals a few things, shoots us, and leaves." Fraser told us.
"Morgan isn't Kate your ex from high school?" I asked, remembering the girl and how'd she'd always intrude on our hangout sessions.
"Yeah. She is." He said, angry as ever, "She's so dead. Dead." Morgan jumped up from his seat on the ground and was about to storm out of the room if it wasn't for his phone ringing.
"Sorry we ran of Hotch, yeah, no, I know." Morgan spoke hurriedly into the phone, "It's Fraser. Fraser Morgan, he's my brother. He knows who did it, yeah. Okay. It's a plan." He flipped his phone shut and turned towards Emory and me.
"The rest of the team is going to question Fraser and his girlfriend, you, Emory, and I are going to Kate's house." Emory and I followed Morgan out of the room and to the car.
"Uncle Derek I think it's best if I knock on the door and you two stay back some. I can talk to her. If she sees you she'll know automatically why you're there, she doesn't know me." Emory pleaded her uncle as the three of us got in the car. It took a while for Morgan to finally agree with her, but I was not okay with it. Kate's a dangerous girl. Obviously.
The butterflies in my stomach exploded when we arrived to Kate's house.

"Stay in the car where she can't see you." I got out and walked to her front door. I'm surprised she's even home.
I placed three knocks on the door and she almost immediately answered.
"Hi, I'm Emory-" she grabbed my arm and pulled me inside.
"I know who you are. You're Derek's best friend's girlfriend." She yanked me into the living room by my arms to the point where I couldn't reach for my gun. She smirked and slid the gun from my holster and threw it in the far corner. Holding my arms in one of her hands and with the other she grabbed the pair of cuffs attached to my belt. I tried to remain calm, or she might snap.
"Listen, Kate, let me go. We can work through this." She just laughed and pulled me to the staircase, attaching the cuffs to my wrists so that they were through the poles on the banister.
"Now this is how it's going to work. I don't want Derek dead. I want him to live through the pain I cause. So you will either call Spencer and tell him it's clear to come in and he'll die. Or you die. It's your choice, pretty thing." She smirked, flipping a pocketknife from her coat pocket. My heart raced. I did, or Spencer dies. I'm not putting Spencer in danger. That's just not happening.
"I'm not calling him." I choked out. Now I'm not even trying to remain calm. Tears are streaming down my face and she smiled, bringing the knife close to my arm. Without another glance, she swiped it across my arm, leaving a bright red bleeding gash.
"God dammit!" I shouted in pain, "please just make it quick!" I scream, crying as she did another gash in the other arm.
"Put the knife down this is the FBI!" The door swung open and there stood Derek and Spencer. Totally unaware of what was happening. My tears were falling still and my arms were bleeding in the uncomfortable position behind me. I ha Jed at the cuffs and was crying hysterically.
"Please help me, let me go, please." I sounded like our victims. Weak. Hopeless. But I was losing blood, lots of it.
Uncle Derek snatched the knife from her hand and cuffed her with his, while Spence ran to me and immediately unlocked my restraints and pulled me up.
"She's losing blood. Call the team and an ambulance." Spencer ordered. Uncle Derek took Kate to the car and Spencer laid me down, my head in his lap.
"It'll be okay, everything will be alright."
That's the last thing I heard before all went black.
I woke up and noticed I was wearing all white. Nobody was there. I was in pure whiteness.
"Dear, please tell me it is not your time to see me already." I turned around to come face to face with my grandma. My deceased grandma.
"Nana?" My voice cracked when I saw her weak state, sitting there with a sad smile, "Nana am I dead?" I ran up to her as fast as I could and she just laughed.
"Baby girl, that's your choice. You choose to stay or to go."
