It took me a while to realize that I'm marrying my love. We will be husband and wife, maybe even mom and dad someday. We can move into a house for the two of us and start a family. It'll be perfect.
"Babe, focus. We need to figure this out," Emory giggled, tapping my nose with a pen she held in her hand. I quickly snatched the pen and held it behind my back, "Hey! Give that back, meanie." She crossed her arms and fake pouted. I immediately felt bad and handed the pen back to her, only getting a victorious smile in return.
"I'm sorry, Em. You're right. Let's have the wedding in a year." I suggested, laying on the couch so my head was in her lap as she typed stuff on her laptop that laid on the coffee table.
Her mouth fell open as if she had an expert idea, "Babe, we should do it next winter with the snow here. Make it outdoorsy and it'll be beautiful!" She squealed, immediately typing more stuff into her laptop.
"Whatever you want is perfect to me." I smiled at her, but her smile fell, "What's wrong?" I asked with concern, sitting up.
"Spence this is your wedding too. I want your honest opinion, please." She begged, brushing her fingers through my hair.
"Fine, I think a winter wedding would be gorgeous. We could get lights to dangle from the arch and roses lining the path with snow white chairs for the guests." I took a breath with I was done, Emory staring at me with the blankets expression ever.
Then, a huge smile spread across her face, "Perfect!" She typed more and more until her fingers grew weary.
"Small or big wedding?" I asked, looking into her eyes, which she looked down to mine.
"Small, just close family and friends. The office." She responded, smiling softly I nodded my head and reached my hand up, putting a strand of hair behind her ear.
"It sounds perfect already, baby." I mumbled, sitting upright and leaning my head close to hers. I began to lay kisses down her jaw and onto her neck.
She let out a soft moan but covered it with a giggle, placing her hand to my cheek, "Babe we have to get to planning," she trailed off, glancing between me and the computer.
"We have over a year. A couple of hours won't hurt anyone," I muttered standing up and grabbing onto her hands and pulling her up. She mumbled an agreement and allowed me to pull her up. My hands immediately went to her waist and squeezed her sides a bit, pulling her closer to me. Her arms snaked around my neck and she smashed her lips against mine. I smiled against her lips but it immediately faded into the kiss. We slowly made our way back to the bedroom, kissing and all.
I'd rather not get into details about what went on.
The next morning, I sat up in bed and yawned, stretching my arms above my head. When I opened my eyes fully I noticed Derek smirking in the corner. I totally forgot that we didn't have our own place last night. I assume Derek came back earlier than he was supposed to.
"Hey, Derek." I trailed off, scratching the back of my neck. Emory stirred and opened her eyes.
"W-what?" She whimpered quietly, still worn out.
"Nothing love, go back to bed." I rubbed the back of her head, soothing her into a sleep. I glared up at Derek and got out of the bed, thankful I put on boxers before I went to bed last night. As he followed me out of the room, he laughed.
"Must have done her good last night," he said smugly. My jaw gaped and I smacked his arm hard.
"Derek, I swear if you let her know you know, I will kill you. So we will pretend like you just got home, okay?" I snapped, grabbing a banana from the bowl on the counter.
"Okay. Get her up though, we have work today." I groaned and stood up, walking towards the bedroom once again. I opened the door to see Emory up and buttoning her jeans quickly, a tank top pulled halfway over her head.
I chuckled and walked up behind her, pulling the tank top the rest of the way down. She grabbed her blazer and quickly threw it on over the tank top, grabbing a hair tie and pulling her hair into a ponytail.
"We'll be late! Let's go!" She rushed me, pushing me towards the closet. She walked into the bathroom and began to do her usually girl stuff while I pulled on my jeans and button up with my casual vest overtop. I'm stylish, what can I say.
"Derek? I thought you were going to work straight from that girl's house," I heard Emory say. That's my queue. I sped walked out of the room and gripped Emory's hand in mine as Derek began to smirk.
"Time to go, babe." We quickly made our way out of the building and straight to the BAU.
We were nearly late, but we weren't. Somehow, Derek was there when we got there. God knows how he did it.
"We've got a case. Conference room in five." I nodded at Hotch and interlocked my fingers with Emory's, beginning to walk to the conference room.
In the next five minutes, everyone was in.
"Molly Derque, age thirteen, was kidnapped last night. Her last sighting was at the neighborhood park in Atlanta, Georgia. Or so they think. Her friend, Daisy said that Molly was bugging her about sneaking out to the park all day, and when she disagreed, Molly wanted to go straight to bed. Daisy woke up at about one in the morning to get some water to an empty bed. She assumed Molly just went to the park." JJ spoke, reading the information off of her files.
"So we really don't know where she was kidnapped?" Emory spoke, raising an eyebrow. JJ shook her head sadly and looked around the room.
"I say we head to Daisy's house and look around her street and the park. Wheels up in thirty." Hotch ordered.
Soon enough we were on the jet.
"When we arrive I want Reid and Emory to head to the street of Daisy's house and look around. JJ and Derek, you guys talk to Daisy and her parents, along with her bedroom, and Elle, you, Gideon, and I will head down to the park for any evidence. Clear?" Hotch spoke strictly, looking around to make sure everyone understood.
"People are sick. I don't understand why they have to do this." Emory sighed sadly, leaning her head onto my shoulder.
"I know, it's terrible. But that's just the way things are."
