Okay if you're a fellow writer then I don't even have to explain this, but I have come across people who just read on Wattpad.
For me personally writers block can be really difficult to get over it. Sometimes I just can't manage to get out what I want or I don't exactly know how to precede in the story. It always frustrates me and that makes the Block even worse. For most writers you'll understand exactly what I'm speaking about.
For the people who only read they have an idea what writers block is, but maybe they have never experienced it. Anytime I'm reading a story and the writer says they have a block I can honestly understand. Well recently I had a major block on one of my stories plus a lot of things were happening in my classes that deserved my full attention. Even after I was finished with my semester and started summer break I had a hard time breaking my block. Unfortunately I had told my readers that I was experiencing this among many other things and apparently some could not understand. I was asked to update quickly and it upset me because I was trying to make a good chapter versus a shitty one. It just put me in this funk and I couldn't even think about writing for that story.
So if you are reading and someone doesn't update for a few weeks just patiently wait. We writers are human after all and not machines. We have lives outside of here and yes we do write here. Only our whole lives may not be based solely on this. For example I have an update schedule that coincides with what days I will be in school and i make it known that if I don't update I might just be busy, but it most likely is writers block. So setting a schedule motivates me to write, but I reiterate that we are not machines that spit words out. Please be kind to authors when you are reading.
