Chapter 10 Plotting

Jasper's POV

I am finding it harder and harder to keep away from Bella. She is so easy to be around and we have just enough in common that I have no trouble talking to her; or not talking to her. It was nice being able to sit and enjoy my surroundings without feeling obligated to talk. I usually come to this spot when I need a break from everybody; when their emotions are getting too much to handle, for peace and quiet, or even just to have my thoughts to myself. But I could easily share this place with Bella. Her emotions are very pleasant and unobtrusive; they aren't constantly bubbly and erratic. She doesn't feel the need to constantly talk about nothing or interrupt my thoughts.

I felt her curiosity for several minutes before my own curiosity was peaked. I could tell straight away that what she asked me wasn't really what was on her mind which peaked my curiosity further but I wouldn't push her to talk about it. I was glad that she brought up Laurent though. It was just the opening I needed to tell her what I found out. I was a little worried that maybe I shouldn't have told her when she started to freak out at the mere mention of Victoria; but the Bella I have come to know is brave and spunky so after giving her some calm and vowing to protect her she snapped out of her fear. She proved me right when she demanded that I train her.

I can't help but respect this woman. Since entering our life, we have put her into so much danger and she has proven to me time and again that she is a fighter and will die to defend the one's she loves. I can't help but respect that. I will do whatever I have to to make sure she has the tools she needs to properly defend herself and others without me having to fear for her life. She is self-sacrificing so I have to make sure that is not an option for her. I will have Alice keep an eye on Bella's decisions as well. I can't have her running off to sacrifice herself when just a little time and patience and the right plan can get us all out of this completely unscathed. Feeling her determination increased my own.

After informing her that Peter and Charlotte were on their way I asked her opinion on who all we should inform. Emmett once mentioned that she was diabolical and a natural strategist after the incident with James. She showed quick thinking and logic when she stopped Edward from absconding with her without coming up with a story for her father. Not to mention that she was able to plot and escape from a psychic and an empath. That was as a human so I was really curious if her vampire mind would improve that skill for her. She did not disappoint. Her logic was on track with mine; So far we are totally in sync in our method to handle the problem with Laurent and Victoria.

Now that we had a solid plan based on our current information, I felt more relaxed. I still needed to talk with Alice to see if we were on the right course. The rest of the family should be joining us soon so I will wait to talk to her once she has arrived. There is a lot we need to go over; I need to apologize to her for attacking her friend and letting her down again, apologize for shutting her out while I dealt with my guilt, apologize if she saw any visions of me nearly kissing Bella (I have a lot of apologizing to do), and discuss this latest issue with Victoria and Laurent. I really need to know the best course of action in regards to the Sister's. I hate leaving anyone in the dark if a decision directly affects them but the element of surprise is very important in this case.

The other wild card is Edward. If Bella is unable to make him see reason then Alice is my only other option. They have always been very close. If he doesn't listen to Bella he will definitely listen to Alice. They share a bond I was never able to understand. My Ali can charm anybody, which she proved when we moved ourselves into the Cullen house without really being invited. Edward was the most distrusting since he was able to see my memories from my past life so he watched us like a hawk. But Alice, she won him over in a matter a days.
