Chapter 5

After school we all went to ice cream, just like Niall suggested. We all sat down after getting the delicious frozen treat and began talking.

"So. How about we play twenty questions? To get to know each other I mean." Connor asked.

"Sure! Sounds fun!" I said. It did I could get to know my friends and they could get to know me.

"So who goes first?"

"How about Ali because she's new?" Nash asked looking at me.

"Um sure. Go ahead. Ask away."

"Favorite color?" Ryan asked

"Easy. Purple."

"Favorite food?"

"Cheese pizza."

"Why not pepperoni?" Nash wondered.

"Vegetarian."

"Any siblings?" Jason asked.

"Not technically. But Mia, my foster sister I love to death."

"You're in foster care?" Mallory asked. Shocked.

"Yep. My parents died when I was six and no family members wanted me so I got put into the system."

"That's awful." Connor said as he hugged me.

"Yeah. I guess. It's alright. I'm used to it. The system is my life now." It was silent for a while like they didn't know what to say next. Then Ryan spoke up.

"Best friend?" He asked.

"Well I guess you guys." I paused. "I only had one close friend at my old school. Everyone else thought I was a freak or just didn't like me."

"Oh. That's not cool. You're a very amazing person."

"Thanks but they didn't seem to think so."

"Well you are. And you have us now. Fuck those assholes." Nash said.

"Wow Nash." I said.

"What? When someone messes with my friends they're going to pay for it."

"Okay Nash calm down. When's your birthday?" Jason asked.

"March first."

"Favorite animal?" Mallory asked.

"Turtle because they're totally like chill." I said.

"No way that's mine too! High five!" Ryan said. After that we high fived.

"Twelve questions left. Choose wisely." I said.

"Okay. It's about to get personal." Jason said somewhat evilly.

"Uh oh." I said laughing nervously.

"Um. Where was your first kiss?" Mallory asked

"Never had one."

"Oh. You're saving it for someone special!" Mallory said dramatically.

"Any special talents?" Nash said.

"Uh. I think so. Yeah I do. I can sing, dance and act."

"That's so cool! Sing something!" They all cheered.

"Well what do I sing?"

"Do you know all of me by john legend? I love that song." Mallory asked.

"That doesn't count as a question! That's just a song suggestion!" Jason said.

"What would I do without your smart mouth? Drawing me in and you kicking me out?
