So I Can Disappear

Today was the day of the competion. We were going to World Class Talent Competition in New York City. I was in the dressing room putting on my solo costume. It was a white leotard basically with sheer fabric over the top of it. One arm was a long sleeve; the other was a spaghetti strap. My hair was in a high and tight bun with a braid around it. I put on natural make-up.

Abby had all the girls except me run their dance before she told us to go backstage. I guess she was still mad at me for storming out during my rehearsal a few days ago. But I still walked down the hall in confidence, not caring about anything except my dance.

The announcer called onto the stage, "Up next is Kendall with Mean." Kendall did her sassy walk onstage and completed her dance. I thought she did pretty well, but you never know what the judges think. The announcer then called, "Next is Nia with Roar." Nia did her front aerial onstage and with that she started with a bang and I think she ended with a bang as well. The announcer called out again, "Up next is Paige with You Don't Know Me." Paige walked onstage and did her dance. I liked her song, but not really her dance. It seemed to childish for her. Next the announcer said, "Next is Asia with Watch Your Back." Asia sassily walked onto the stage and the song began. When the dance ended, she walked off stage and looked like she was about to slap me or something. The announcer announced, "Up next to take the stage is Chloe with Eyes Open." I honestly loved her dance; it was a beautiful dance, a beautiful song, a beautiful costume, and a beautiful girl. What could be better? The announcer said, "Next is Madison with Can't Bother Me Now." Maddie flapped herself onto the stage and I thought her dance was pretty good. The announcer finally stated, "And last in our teen solo division is Mackenzie with Disappear." I walked onstage and sat on the ground, my hand on my heart. The music started and I began. I looked out into the audience and saw my mom tearing up; then, I saw....... Tyler? Why was Tyler here? I landed my fuette turn and fell to the ground kinda like I had just killed myself. I walked offstage and Chloe hugged me; she's my only friend here at dance. Maddie doesn't care anymore. Nia and I don't talk much. And Paige, Kendall, and Asia are bullying me.

The ALDC team walked back onstage for the awards. The announcer said, "And the last division of the night, the teen solos. In tenth place is Paige with You Don't Know Me. In nineth place is Jamie with Just Walk away. In eighth place is Kendall with Mean. In seventh place is Scarlett with I Hurt. In sixth place is Nia with Roar. In fifth place is Madison with Can't Bother Me Now." We all gasp and the announcer continues," In fourth place is Asia with Watch Your Back. In third place is Chloe with Eyes Open." My jaw dropped, only two places left and I haven't been called. The announcer continued, "In second place is Tyler with Just The Way You Are." Wait, I thought, Tyler dances? As he walked up to get his award. The announcer said, "And first place overall, with the highest score of the night and a perfect 300, is.......drumroll please.........Mackenzie with Disappear." I was so astonished that I couldn't get up at first; then, some girl behind me nudged me and I got up and walked get my award.

Chloe and I walked back to the dressing room, but my mind wasn't with our conversation. I was thinking about how Tyler dances and I got first overall with a perfect score. Abby should never have doubted me.

Abby walked in and said, "Mackenzie, I never should have doubted you; that was absolutely amazing." She came over to me and pulled I got pulled into a hug. Then, she said, "Maddie, what happened to you? Fifth place? Na ah. Not at the ALDC." Maddie nodded.

We packed up our things and got on the bus to leave, but before I got on the bus, I heard a voice call out, "Mackenzie!" I stopped in my tracks. Turning around, I saw Tyler running towards me. He got to me and said, "Mackenzie, you are an amazing dance and you are beautiful and sweet and so smart."

"What are you saying?" I asked him.

"I'm saying," he said. "I REALLY like you and was wondering if you would go out with me?"

"Hmm..." I said, "Let me think about it.... DONE... YES!" I hugged him and ran onto the bus because it was waiting for me.

Chloe asked, "Who was that?"

"Oh, just a kid from school," I answered.

"Didn't look like just a kid from school."

"Okay fine," I admit. "He just asked me to be his girlfriend."

"OMG! Mackenzie that is awesome!" She hugged me.

Paige turned around and said, "How do you have a boyfriend and not me? You're so f*cking ugly!"

"Paige!" Abby yelled, "Don't say that; you are now kicked off of the ALDC Elite Team."

"Okay, fine I don't care," Paige shrugged.

We got to the studio and my mom drove Maddie and me home.

A/N Sorry for the cussing. I just thought of a way to get one of Mackenzie's bullies kicked off the team. So on another note how do you like it? Comment any suggestions please!
