jooheon placed his hands on my shoulder and slowly pushed me away. he stared into my eyes, hands still on my shoulder.

"blair, is this true?"

"i don't even know myself," i laughed through tears. "i don't know why i'm crying, or if i love him. but all i know is," i hesitated. "all i know is i'm not going to let minhyuk be assassinated."

"blair, have you gone insane?"

"i can talk him out of it, please. just give me another couple of weeks or something," i begged.

"we don't know if he'll lie," jooheon said.

i bit my lip. "no, we won't. but it's worth a try. instead of using love to kill him...we can use love to change him."

"look, i really think you should leave," jiyoon said and pushed jooheon towards the window.

"one week, that's all you have."

and he left.

"blair—"

"i'll catch you next time," i said and left the room. i climbed the staircase and went into minhyuk's room.

"hey, kitten," minhyuk said and turned to look at me. "w-why are your eyes so puffy? are you okay?"

"it's nothing."

"aish," he stood up quickly and walked to me. "i asked if you're okay. have you been crying?"

unknowingly, i nodded, slowly and hesitantly.

"why?"

i couldn't come up with an excuse.

he sighed. "here, get in bed."

he turned off the lights and got in bed next to me.

"who made you cry?"

i didn't answer.

"kitten, don't cry. it hurts me to see you cry. i don't know, i've spent a few weeks with you, but i think i've grown some type of feelings towards you."

"what type of feelings...?" i asked.

i heard shifting in the covers, and a warm body laid next to mine. arms encircled my waist and a head was rested on top of mine.

"would you believe it if...i said i love you?"

i guiltily bit my lip. "but you've only met me a short while ago."

he sighed. "but i've trusted you...you didn't run away from me. you didn't seem scared of me. you treated me like i was a normal human being."

it was silent for a while before i said, "minhyuk...do you really have to go this far? you don't have to take over the world...everyone is scared. if your parents were here, do you think they'd be proud of you? if they were here, they'd hide in fear."

"but it's my only way to prove them wrong—"

"no it isn't," i cut him off. "you don't have to prove them wrong. i know you suffered so much in your life, but taking revenge like this isn't worth it. and it's silly," i said. "at least it's over now. you didn't have to make your reputation worse."

silence, once again, filled the room.

"minhyuk—"

"i know i made my reputation worse, but i risked it because it was already ruined," he said.

"yes, but now the whole country knows. probably even others. the rumors, they only revolved around the schools you attended. even the government, parents, and people who lived in other states know now. a lot of them fear you...it's not worth it. at first it was only a few thousand people knowing, but now millions do. stop this, minhyuk."

i heard silent sobs.

i turned around and hugged minhyuk.

"please don't cry."

"y-you're right," he whimpered. "i-i ruined everything for myself."

"i know now that what they said about you was untrue. they never saw the real you. you're not a murderous tyrant, no. you're someone who's coping with things incorrectly. you're just a normal person."

"kitten..." i heard minhyuk call softly.

"hmm?"

"how do i stop this?"

"i don't know, it's already started," i said.

"what do you mean?"

"have you ever thought of anyone assassinating you?"

"how do i change my reputation?" he asked.

"i don't know. maybe you should stop trying to take over the world a live a normal life."

"but the reputation will forever live on with me," he said.

"if you knew this would happen, why did you start in the first place?"

"why do you even care so much? you should've just went into hiding like everyone else."

his words broke my heart.

"i—"

"you what?"

"i love you."
