minhyuk didn't come home that night, i laid in bed all alone. i thought we had mutual feelings.

i sighed and went to see jiyoon.

"hey, come in," jiyoon said.

"have you found anything out about the secret compartment?" i asked.

she shook her head. "you seem...bothered. what's wrong, honey?"

"we confessed," i said.

"w-what?

"minhyuk left after i told him...he hasn't come back yet," i sighed.

"don't think too much about it," she said.

i explained to her our conversation and what had happened.

"it seems like he genuinely wants to stop, but he knows it wouldn't make him a good person. he's right, his reputation will live on with him...everyone will remember him as the murderous tyrant," jiyoon said.

it was silent.

"look, i think you should really talk to your agency."

"how?" i asked.

"call jooheon to come get you again, i'll cover for you while trying to find the truth of the compartment."

"a-are you sure...?"

"positive. now, get to bed."

i went back upstairs and called jooheon.

"hello?" his voice spoke.

"hey.."

"what did you call me for?"

"can you take me back to the agency?" i asked.

"why?"

"i need to speak to boss."

"when?" he asked.

"minhyuk isn't home tonight...can we go now?"

"okay. i'm coming with changkyun," he said and hung up.

i felt anxious and my heartbeat excelled. heat took over and my palms began to sweat.

i slipped a note under jiyoon's door and went back to minhyuk's room. not too long later, a tap was heard on the window.

and i made my escape.

"the van's parked at the next block, hurry!" changkyun said and we ran to the next block. we loaded the van and drove off.

"greetings, agent blair," the driver said and i greeted him back.

we made it back to the agency.

"i'm going to speak with boss," i said.

"i'm coming with you," jooheon said and followed after me.

"wait for me!" changkyun said.

we made it to boss' office and knocked on the door.

"come in! blair?"

"hey," i said.

"what're you doing here?" boss widened his eyes. "aren't you supposed to be with minhyuk—w-wait is he already dead—"

"no," i said sternly.

"then why are you here?"

"i came to tell you that minhyuk is misunderstood. he isn't a murderous tyrant—"

"i never thought you'd—"

"just listen to me!" i yelled. "minhyuk is just a regular human being and he's only coping with his past too harshly."

i explained the story to boss, and he listened.

"blair, how could you be manipulated so easily? who knows if what lee minhyuk says are lies?" boss said.

i teared up. "p-please, hear me out—"

"blair, you are no longer part of this mission. we'll send agents now to kill him."

"no!" i screamed in tears. "no, please!"

"take her away," boss commanded two guards.

"b-blair!" changkyun called.

"boss, i think she's speaking the truth—"

"take these two with her."

changkyun and jooheon were dragged along with me.

"no! stop it! it's the truth!" i shouted.

i was thrown into an empty room, changkyun and jooheon with me.

"n-no, please let me out," i begged.

the door was locked.

"let me out!" i yelled.

"blair, calm down," jooheon said softly.

"m-minhyuk...please, no. h-he can't die..." i cried.

i felt a hand on my shoulder.

"blair..."

i turned my head.

"let's save minhyuk," changkyun uttered. "together."
