If you've seen my other art book, you'll notice I post a lot of spam of some characters named Pete and Francis and Brecky and Darby and stuff. Well, I decided to give them their own home here so I don't do such a spotty job explaining things like p...
And we're back, pirates, to our one year celebration!
It is now time for me to put up the original character drawings...

OK, fair warning, we weren't making art at this point in time we were making memes and also I sucked at drawing and both of those things are showcased here

As you can see, Francis lost many...physical characteristics that you will not see on Francis today (rip rocket elbows and large quantities of lace)

Not gonna lie, Darby's design stayed pretty similar except current Darby has the slight leg up, that being THAT I NOW FREAKING KNOW HOW TO DRAW

Now for a few facts you may find interesting about these characters:
- Ridgley and Winchester (Pete and Francis's last names) are names of streets around Co-creator's town
- Darby and Brecky's last name, McNamara, was a name I saw on an envelope on the morning we created our characters and I liked it so much I wrote it down on the paper
- Brecky is actually loosely based on a third Co-creator (more of a Co-contributor) who is the same age. Her creation was inspired because I was excited for breakfast at camp. We still call Co-contributor Brecky to this day, and she calls us Pete and Francis
- The idea of Dwynwen evolved from an earlier idea that Pete was not in love with a selkie but the entire ocean (? It was like one of those old fisherman who is like 'the sea is my only love yo ho' but we were like nah that's weird) This was at least better than the original reason for Pete's signature scowl, which was that he would much rather be at McDonald's than spending time with Francis.
- The name that took the most time to decide on was Dwynwen's. We debated a lot over it, but decided we liked Dwynwen best. Some other options, however, were Meri, Una/Ula, and Genevieve.
-Finnick, when created, was actually a ghost who was haunting Brecky, but we discovered that as a wizard he was much easier to develop and also removed the elephant in the room of him being freaking dead.
Now for the final item on our celebration list!
