"Alright, next question," I said, making the four girls perk up.
They had been doing promotional interviews all day and were pretty tired when they came in. I didn't think this interview was going to go too well, but I had actually managed to make it interesting so far, which the girls seemed grateful for.
"This is a more in depth question that I'm always happy to ask. It's a little deep and might require you guys to think about it a little bit," I said, grabbing the girl's attention.
"What's your favorite emoji?"
The girls couldn't hold back their laughter as they began thinking about their separate answers.
"I like the monkey one," Lauren answered first, demonstrating how the monkey covers his eyes.
"Cute," I said, turning to the other girls and locking eyes with Dinah slightly.
We had done that at least a dozen times since this interview started. I was trying to stay professional, but this girl was making it hard for me at the moment.
"Right now my favorite is the one with the big eyes," Ally spoke up, trying her hardest to reenact the emoji.
I giggled at the girl as Normani answered next.
"I like the one where it's smiling but it looks like it's tired of your BS," Normani said, making the other girls laugh.
"I know exactly which one you're talking about!" Lauren laughed, high fiving the girl.
"Dinah?" I spoke, getting the attention of the girl who was still staring at me. She looked as if she just realized she hadn't answered yet.
"Oh! I like the blushing one with the hands," she said, putting her hands out to show us what it looked like.
"I don't get that one," Ally said, making Dinah laugh.
"I think of it like... squishing..." Dinah trailed off, locking eyes with Lauren as both the girls laughed.
They were obviously on the same page, and I think I knew what she was hinting at.
"Alright, I think that's all we have time for," I laughed.
"Thank you guys for tuning into this interview and make sure you guys check out the amazing music these ladies are putting out," I said to the camera as the girls smiled and waved before the interview was over.
"Cut!" Someone yelled.
"Thank you guys so much for coming out today. I had a lot of fun," I told the girls as they stood up and hugged me.
"It was no problem," Normani told me with a smile.
"Yea, we should be thanking you for not making this interview boring as hell," Dinah said, making Ally hit her arm.
"I like to have fun," I said with a laugh.
I caught a glimpse of Lauren and Normani making faces at Dinah, as we were now standing in front of each other as the other girls began to walk away.
"It was really nice to meet you, Y/n," Dinah said, ignoring the looks the girls were sending her.
"Likewise. I interview a lot of assholes so it's always refreshing to meet people like you girls," I complimented, internally cheering when I saw her blush a bit.
"Is it cool if we trade numbers? I'd love to hang out sometime," Dinah asked, which surprised me a little bit, but I gave her my number nonetheless.
"I'll see you around?" I asked as I gave her phone back to her after typing my number into it.
"I sure hope so," Dinah smiled, hugging me one last time before she left with the other girls.
I laughed when I heard them teasing her down the hallway while they made their way out of the building.
