Axel Allisons POV
I toyed with the hem of Alyssas shirt as her head layed in the crook of my neck. Her body curled up next to mine as we all watched the screen that was playing at Mums house.
Amy was interested in the movie playing and Alyssa was drifting off to sleep - her breathing becoming softer and her eyes drooping shut. My fingers instead danced along her arm, continuing to send her into a lulling sleep. Beautiful and soft. My little mate.
Amy was snuggled into my other side, my little sister.
My own eyes were close to blinking shut, instead I nudged Amy gently. "Can you pass me another biscuit?" I whispered, watching her eye roll in reply before bring me the whole plate.
"Take a few." She whispered back.
"Thank you." I smiled, taking two. Alyssa shifted, causing me to stop moving as her hand came to rest on my stomach.
"You are so whipped." Amy teased quietly, leaning back against me.
"Yes I am " I smiled, staring down at my mate. Her long eyelashes were pressed against her slightly flushed cheeks and her soft breathing was relaxing. "Happy birthday." I said for what seemed to be the thousandths time today.
Amy had grown up in such a short time - emotionally she had matured along with her outer appearance.
It was thankfully a step up from her telling me to reject the beautiful girl that was sleeping beside me.
Thankfully Amy had come to her senses and now Alyssa was an independent student and my girlfriend.
Our relationship was odd. After taking to many steps - we're now taking it slow. That means I haven't marked her. She brought the topic up when we were cuddling in our bed the other night - she was thinking we should do it soon.
And that had me and my wolf excited.
She fidgeted - causing me to look down at her - her eyes fluttering open to reveal soft carmel orbs. "Good morning beautiful." I nuzzled her cheek.
"It's morning - I missed the - " I cut her off with a chuckle, her mind not working past the haze for her to realize it was still dark and that we were at Mum and Dads.
"Baby I'm sorry - you didn't miss it." I watched as she gave me a lazy pout. Pulling her gently back towards me, she nuzzled her forehead against my neck. "It starts in four and a half hours." I told her gently, she grumbled softly in response. "I told you to get a good night sleep last night."
Amy was watching us out the corner of her eye with a smile, Alyssas stretching out her shoulders as she shifted against me.
"Hey Ams, I'm just going to take Als here up to my room to sleep - okay?" I ruffled Amys hair before picking my mate up bridal style.
"Don't drop her." She called in response.
"Don't jinx it." I sent her a smirk as I dissappeared up the stairs with my mate. "Here we go Al." I murmered, putting her down gently on my bed. She smiled tiredly as I climbed in beside her - arms going to their usual position around her. She was compliant, her hands on my chest as her eyes closed once again.
"Baby - I heard Darren mention something about the Rogues running through - is that true," she suddenly asked.
"I don't know - nothing to worry about okay?" I pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
"Okay." She yawned, sliding her leg between mine. "Good night baby." She closed her eyes, out like a light.
"You are a very tired girl." I whispered, my own eyes drifting shut.
How had Alyssa heard what Darren and I were discussing? It was true that more Rogues were popping un unexpectedly but dissappearing before anyone could apprehend them. And that the thought and fear must have been on his mates mind made him instinctively grip her tighter.
No matter what, he was going to protect her.
