Amy Allisons POV
I tipped the cab driver, turning to look at Alyssa and Axels house. My eye browd quirked at Rosie who layed on the grass out front of her house giggling, tears running down her face, Darrens car was parked in Axels driveway, blocking his BMW from getting out.
Darren must have been inside, worrying for Rosies mental health I ran inside their house. Throwing the door open I could hear Darrens laughter.
"Darren! Darren somethings wrong with Rosie!" I called throughout the house, the noise of a chair being scraped across the ground and Darren running through the hallway towards me. "She's outside - " he pushed past me, horror on his face as I followed him out. "Hi Liss, Axel!" I called as theu came bounding down the stairs.
I watched as Darren jumped the small fence seperating their house and fell to his knees beside her, he scooped her up in his arms, pulling the small girl to his chest. "Rosie honey what's wrong?" His voice was shakey as Rosie cried harder. "Rose." Darren shook her gently, starting to cry to. All I could do was watch on in nerves as Rosie mumbled to him something incoherent over and over again. "Rosie I'm here I promise." My heart clenched as Axel joined my side, watching on in horror as Rosie continued to break down.
I smelt an odd thing - my wolf responding to it in a confusing manner.
"Mate." Someone whispered huskily behind me. Ignoring it, Rosie was more important than something that my painful imagination cooked up.
"What's wrong?" Alyssas worried voice came, she clutched my arm, eyes welled with tears as they stared on, Darren pulling Rosie further into his lap, forehead pressed to hers.
It seemed nothing was going right for the poor girl - her mate was injured twice, leaving her emotional drained. And her friend and alpha died and now something had gone wrong. Nerves chattering we watched as Rosie had to be carried inside by Darren, Axel fixing the couch as the presence and smell continued to follow us.
Marshmellows and ice-cream.
"Is she going to be okay?" I asked Axel, voice shaky as he pulled the two of us into a hug. Alyssa still hadn't let go of my arm. We both buried our heads into Axel as he held us to him, kissing the tops of both our heads.
A distracting and uncalled for growl eminated from behind us, in anger I turned around - to be met with a man who looked shakingly like Sebastion and Joseph standing before me. His dark red hair and deep hazel eyes stared at me with lust and disgust.
"Who is that?" The unfamiliar male asked, eyes flickering to where Rosie was lying, Darren tending to her.
"Rosie is Darrens mate." Axel grounded out, eyes flickering over to Rosie.
"What's wrong with Rosie?" Alyssa asked, sniffling back tears.
"She's going to be okay, but... something happened and she didn't know how to handle it." Axel frowned, unfortunately having to watch his mate let out a quiet sob before burying herself in his chest again. I rubbed her back, not liking the way I felt helpless while my best friend cried. "She'll be okay." Axel mumbled, holding Alyssa closer.
"Who is that?" I asked Axel, sparing another glance at the red head. I wanted to ask why he was here, why he smelt that way and why it made my head spin.
"The new alpha, Dustin." He replied softly, running his hand up and down Alyssas back. "Can you tell him not to go poking around." Axel growled, noticing the lack of the new alphas presence. My eyes drifted to Alyssa, who continued to cry into his chest. "I've got Als."
"Okay." I replied reluctantly, turning away from them to track down this red headed intruder. I walked into the living room, the alpha sat in Rosie and Darrens love chair with his feet on the coffee table.
Rosie was a neat freak. Cleaning, cooking and curls was the three C's that made up Rosie. And to think the state she was in and this man was disobeying her rules and ruining her home.
"Feet off the table, didn't you ever learn manners." I narrowed my eyes. My body betrayed me as my heart beated wildly and my knees weakened. My mate.
I didn't want him - not like that. I just wanted to wait a little longer - give me more time to adjust to my life and how I want to live it.
He stared at me, eyes held mine in curiosity, as he slowly brought his feet off the table and stood up.
"As the alpha I own everything." He drawled, eyes trailing across my body. What a pig.
"Actually, as the alpha your job is to train, protect and keep our laws in order, you don't own anything but a title." I sneered.
"I am your alpha and your mate - you will show respect." He sneered back, walking around the table to glare down at me.
"I will only show some respect if you weren't such an asshole." I snapped, narrowing my eyes at him again. I didn't know how else to respond - how to talk to him.
"That blonde girl in there told me to mind my language - she's your friend, I suppose same rules apply to you." He smirked down at me - his face totally looking punchable. My body froze though, this man had met Alyssa - and by the sound of it not in a good way.
"She's my best friend and how do you know her?" I eyed him, he was pretty alright looking - his arms muscles bigger than his brain.
"I thought she was my mate because she smelled like you, then I met her again half naked." He smirked, eyes trailing past me to the door. "I kind of wish she was my mate - " my wolf growled, the alphas eyes snapped to me.
"Don't you dare." My eyes glowed as I had to prevent myself from shifting. "You can be an ignorant twat but don't you dare talk about Alyssa."
"As you want." He snorted, walking past me, shoving his shoulder into me as he did so. I hated that there was a tingle of sparks - I knew he felt it to - that's probably why I dug my foot into the back of his ankle, watching him stumble forwards.
