Axel Allisons POV
Even though Amy confessing that Dustin infact was her mate on the drive over here - the thought completely left me as Alyssa playfully nipped in my direction before running after Darren and Rosie.
She had used our mind link - something she had been learning to do, so I bounded after her tail wagging. Her small mostly white wolf, decorated in browns, greys, blacks and even some red, had my complete focus as her legs gracefully brought her up and over many obstacles. I caught up to her easily, both of us breaking into the clearance, except Rosie and Darren weren't alone.
In front of the two werewolves stood a large mud brown wolf covered in black flecks. Tilting my head - I instantly knew it was the alpha.
Alyssa pressed herself to my side as we trotted over to them to see what was going on.
'Axel, Alyssa.' The alphas eyes zeroed in on Alyssa, probably feeling the block that we all did when it came to mind linking Alyssa. He took it as an offense, glaring at her, but she blinked up at him oblivious.
'She can't use the mind link.' I answered for her. 'It gives her a head ache, but she's learning.' I nudged her small wolf with my snout, making endearing noises at her, her tail wagging.
'Why?' Dustin demanded back.
'Personal medical reasons.' I answered, trying not to snap as he continued to eye Alyssa.
'How do I talk to her?' He frowned, his wolfs eyes pulled into a scowl.
'If you want her attention just make whining noises.' Darren answered, making a noise at Alyssa, who yipped back, tail continuing to wag, her eyes trailing over to Rosie. Alyssa made a playful groan, causing Rosie to reply with her own noise, running over to nudge her head on Alyssa, the two started to chase each other - us boys left to talk.
'Does it get tiring having to talk to her in animal form instead of through the mind?' Dustin asked, sitting down, eyes trailing past me, no doubt to busy burger, where Amy worked.
'Never, unless you're dumb.' Rosie giggled, obviously enjoying teasing the alpha. Dustin made to growl but Darren cut him off.
'Sorry, Rosie suffers filterless syndrome, it's when there isn't a filter connecting to your brain and mouth.' Darren practically smirked as Rosie snorted, making noises and thrusting her head in Darrens direction, telling on him to Alyssa. Alyssa, obviously catching on, started prowling towards him playfully.
Stepping in, I pressed my snout to hers, any play fighting she was willing to do forgotten as she cleaned my fur. Sitting still, I let her lick the fur around my throat, proving how much I trust her. Closing my eyes, I felt myself relax, calming at the rhythm Alyssa kept lovingly. She stopped, suddenly sneezing adorably. My wolf cooed at her, nudging her, then starting to clean her fur.
I loved these moments that we just did something so sweet and ordinary together. From sharing moments together alone to grooming each other in the forest. Her tail wagged at a steady pace as my tongue softly brushed her fur.
I could feel the alphas gaze on us occasionally, also Rosie and Darren - Rosie baking in the sun as Darren stood protectingly over her. It annoyed Rosie, as she wanted him to lay with her, but all her nudges and groaning got her nowhere but a glance or a loving lick.
I understood his need to protect her, Rosie was broken and it scared everyone, the small pink haired joy was hurt. And Darren wouldn't let it happen again. He got very moody if he and Rosie ever fought - usually over stupid things - but this time was different. This was knocking the fight Rosie had started about her accusing Darren of not liking how much she ate, that hurt Darren as Rosie just started chucking things and screaming at him - he had just walked in and she tried to kill him. But this time - he wasn't letting anything happen to his mate.
Alyssa whined in the alphas direction, my eyes going over to Dustin, who had started to walk away. His tail twitched, turning towards Alyssa.
'What did she say?' He asked me, confused.
'She wants to know why you're leaving.' I replied, nuding the side of head, wanting her grey eyes to look at me again.
'Uh - how do I tell her I'm getting food?' He asked, catching me off guard he actually wanted to try and connect with her.
'Just try and make a few groans and look at busy burger - and chomp your snout.' I rambled, thinking of a way to explain our seeming secret language with Alyssa.
Dustin did what I told him, he looked awkwardly nervous before trekking off into that direction.
'I hate to say it - but shouldn't we like, try to be his friend?' I mind linked the other two, both of them lifting their heads up.
'Axels right.' Darren answered, the two getting up to follow.
Alyssa looked between all of us, so I nudged her to stand up, tipping my head in the direction Dustin had gone. This caused her tail to wag.
'Good boy.' Her voice wavered, just like it had when she told me she loved me before. Pressing my nose to the side of her head, I gave her one last affectionate noise before we followed after Rosie and Darren.
