People are screaming as they stampede for their lives toward the exit. I hear grunts and fists colliding against skin. The entire place is in blind chaos. I close my eyes against my better judgement and use my ears to pinpoint all the noise happening around me as I use the wall for support.
"Adina, Where are you?" I hear Sebastian call out from my left as I make it to the top floor.
I debate whether to follow his voice or try to head out to the exit. I don't want to call out to him and expose myself. I bump into something when I move forward. I use my hands to balance myself out. I begin to panic slightly. It's a body. I kneel down and place my hands on the person's chest.
"Sebastian?" I whisper softly as my hands come across a wet surface.
"Damn it Adina! Where are you?" Sebastian's voice mumbles out next to me. I stand up and move away from the body. I give my senses full reign and allow it to guide me to Sebastian. I take a few steps forward and crash into his familiar frame. A satisfied smile forms along my mouth as I grip onto his shirt.
"I knew I could find you." I whisper softly.
His tense body relaxes and he grabs onto my waist squeezing me tight.
"Are you hurt?" He questions as his hands blindly skim my body.
"No. Are you? How did you get away from the guy?" I avoid telling him I was shot. The wound hadn't penetrated too deep into my skin which reassured me a little.
"No time for questions. We need to get out of here." He pulls me along with him as we head to what I assume is the back exit.
The moment my skin picks up a different source of body heat to my left, I reel Sebastian back and we both end up stumbling to the ground in a heap. I crawl over his back and feel around for his hand. I grab a hold of him all the while hoping he doesn't make a sound as I lead us toward the door of the change rooms. I only know it's the change rooms because I can smell the lingering scent of the perfumes the girls bathe themselves in before each performance. I reach out in search of the doorknob. I open the door, pushing us in and locking it behind us. Once we are in the clear I fish out my phone from my back pocket and use the light to glance around. I look to Sebastian who is kneeling next to me on the floor.
"I called Damion earlier. They have backup coming."
"That's great! How are they planning on finding us in the middle of this chaos though?"
I scratch my head. "Well see, that's the thing. I caused the black out so that it would buy me time to think up a new plan."
"Why on earth would you do that? We can't fend off on our own here. Those guys out there came here to kill everyone."
"I just don't want Wez and them getting involved because it could ruin our plans. Maqueuly will get suspicious." I explain.
"I understand where your concern is coming from Adina. But we are all working together and we are all trained professionals. You have to trust Wez. It'not only their safety but ours as well we put on the line so we need to stick together when shit goes down." Sebastian says.
I nod. "So what do you want me to do?"
"Call and update him on the situation."
I frown but do as he says. Dan picks up on the second ring. "Hey Adina we are just pulling up at the front."
"Great. We are going to need vision goggles. I shut down the power and it's completely dark in here. Like scary pitch black dark." I mutter.
I hear Dan relying the message to other people who are all bickering in the background. "Where are you? Is Sebastian there with you?"
