"I see them! They're over here, hurry up!"

I pull my gun out and shoot along the edges of the trees as I shove Adina inside my car. Another set of shots ring out as I open the drivers side door. I jump in and start the car, pushing it into drive. I rush out of the parking space but one of Derek's men jumps out of the trees in front of my car with a gun aimed directly at me. I rev the car thinking it will scare him into moving out of the way. When he doesn't budge I press on the gas. If he wants to block the road then by all means I'll run over the bastard. I wasn't about to wait and risk the chance of us not making it out alive. I accelerate the vehicle and duck my head as he shoots through the windshield. His body comes into contact with my car and he rolls up over the roof before he lands on the concrete floor.

I race through town and only stop once to fuel up my tank and call Wez informing him that we were on our way to him. The entire ride to Wezley's prevents me from checking on Adina. She has slept through the whole ordeal. Her body lays motionless. If it weren't for her chest rising and falling I would be worried she were dead. I take a hold of her right hand and kiss her gently. I will protect her. Derek nor Maqueuly were ever going to hurt her.

My leg stings, a reminder that I have a bullet lodged in my leg. By the time we make it to the small cabin I am feeling drained and a little weak. My engine alerts the guys inside that I have arrived and I have them flanking my side in no time as I rush to pull Adina out.

Dan is at my side pushing me back as he glances inside the vehicle at Adina's form. "Is she okay?"

I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know man. She has been unconscious since I got to her. Hasn't moved once. We need to bring her inside and assess her."

Dan nods as he leans in the car and pulls her body out. Wez comes to my side with another stiff looking older gentlemen. He is dressed casually with white washed jeans and a black sweater. His expression is grim and he is examines me with a skeptical glare. Dan rushes inside with Adina.

"You found her Sebastian. All odds were against us but you did it." Wez slaps me on the back gently which in turn causes me to stumble. Wez is quick to pull my arm to prevent me from falling over. He analyzes me more critically before he helps me inside.

"Get Anderson to check these two kids out now!" Wez commands with no room for argument.

"Have him check her out first. Her state worries me Wez." I grumble out.

"Where are you hurt?"

"Got shot on my right leg." I grit out as I bend down to pull my jeans up. I twist my leg around to get a better look at it. The sight is not pretty. Thick dry blood is scattered all over my leg, there is fresh blood which is continuing to gush out of the open wound sticking to my jeans and running down the inside of my shoe.

A tall Caucasian skinny man in a white dress shirt and black dress pants comes to my side with a large brown hand bag in hand. I notice he has a large red healed scar from the top of his left head to the end of his chin. His hair is gelled back which makes his features stand out more. His dark eyes assess me for a second before he proceeds to address the wound on my leg.

"I'm Dr. Anderson Noah."

"Great. Think you can pull out the bullet?" I inquire.

"That is what I will do. I just need to examine the wound and see if I have the appropriate materials to do that here. Wez I am going to need you to set up a room." Dr. Anderson clarifies as he grabs my leg for further examination.

Wez disappears as Anderson continues to touch along the edges of my wound like I'm some interesting alien.

"What's the verdict doc am I going to live?"
