Betty doesn't have a crush on Archie for this :) Veronica and I moved to Riverdale with mom recently. We're picking up food from Pop's diner.
We walked in. I saw a ginger haired boy staring at me. I followed my sister over to the table. There was a guy at the counter and I walked over and told him we were picking up food for Lodge. He left to go get the food ready after telling me we would have to wait about 10 minutes. "Merinda come over here." My sister said to me and I walked over to the table. "Merinda, this is Betty and Archie. Betty is giving us our tour tomorrow." Veronica explained to me. I shook the Betty's hand and then Archie's. Archie and I ended up staring at each other for a bit but we both snapped out of it and continued talking to them for a bit until the waiter came with our food.
"We gotta go but we will see you in school tomorrow." My sister said and Archie nodded. "Yeah, you will." His eyes lingered on mine for a bit and then we left.
"He so likes you." My sister said, looking at me as we exited the diner. "No he doesn't. Besides, Betty's a girl, he was with her in the diner. Looked like a date." I said, scoffing. No way a boy as pretty as that could like me. "Girl, he so does. And nope, they're just best friends. That's all." Ronnie explained.
Maybe he does like me. Well, I'll see him in school tomorrow.
Ronnie and I settled in nicely to the school. We've met Kevin and Jughead too and Jughead and I have become good friends. Also, he's the only one other than my sister who knows about my crush on Archie. He's convinced that Archie likes me too.
I also joined the cheer leading team. We were walking outside near the football field and saw Archie. My sister looked at me. "You're going to do this. I don't care. You're asking him to the back to school formal dance. ARCHIE!!" Ronnie said. Archie came running over and then she left with Betty to leave the two of us alone.
"Y/n wants to ask you something." Ronnie said, as Archie got closer.
"Hey, Y/n, what's up?" Archie asked. "Um...well...I was wondering...and uh, you don't have to if you don't want to...but um, would you want to maybe be my date to the back to school formal?" I asked, really nervous. Archie said nothing. "Um, you know what..nevermind forget I asked.." I said, getting ready to walk away but Archie caught my arm. "No no, I'd love to be your date. I was just surprised that you asked me." Archie said. "I'll pick you up at 8." He added. I nodded and smiled and he walked off.
The girls ran up to me. "I'm so proud of you." Ronnie said, hugging me. I smiled.

I finished getting ready and then there was a knock on my door and I heard mom open it. "Hey Archie, come in. Y/n, honey Archie's here!!" Mom called. I picked up my bag and put my phone in it and then walked out of my room.
"Hey, Y/n, you look beautiful." Archie said, making me blush. "You ready to go?" He asked. I smiled and nodded. I linked arms with him and we left after I said goodbye to my mom.
We arrived at the dance and Archie leaned over. "Hey, I'm gonna get us drinks. Will you be okay here for a second?" He asked. I nodded. He smiled and kissed my cheek and walked off. He came back a few minutes later and handed me my drink.
Later, we decided to dance. "So, why did you ask me to the dance?" Archie asked suddenly. To be honest, I was a little taken aback. "Um, well, when I met you in the diner, I admit I thought you were kinda cute. And then I guess I just started to develop a crush on you and I really wanted to ask you to the dance but I was too scared and my sister got annoyed so she made me do it and I'm glad she did because I'm having a great night." I said, smiling at the end. "But what really surprised me was that you actually said yes. Why did you?" I asked.
Archie said nothing. He just kissed me. "Does that answer your question?" He asked, smiling. I blushed and nodded. "I think so." I smiled, laughing. Archie laughed too. "Good." He said, and we danced more and it was actually a really great night.
He brought me home at the end of the night. "Thank you for asking me. I had a great time." Archie smiled. "You're welcome, I had a great time too and thank you for saying yes." I giggled. Archie kissed me once more and then left.
Ignoring the smirks from my sister, I smiled and went to bed. It was a great night.
