Name: Diana Sawyer
Age: 16
Sex: Female
District: 2
Appearance: Diana is just your average teenage blonde―messy hair, loose clothing, exhausted and run-down frame―but any experienced stylist can see that she is, remarkably, a real diamond in the rough. She stands at a height of 5'7", with a toned and lean build as well as an hourglass-shaped body. There are well-earned scars all over her torso and legs due to training, but there are barely any on her arms. Yet Diana is modest about her appearance, wearing big baseball-style tees and jeans instead of tight-fitted dresses and short skirts. Diana's hair is long and healthy, reaching to the middle of her back, and it's always unkept; she normally doesn't brush for longer than half a minute before deciding that she's just too lazy to go on or when she breaks the neck of her comb. Her dark amber eyes, usually described as bronze by other trainees her age, give off a glint similar to metal―hence the latter description of "bronze." Her face and skin are pale, and usually the only piece of makeup Diana would apply is either dark or cherry red lipstick. Unless she invites you over to her house or you knock them off the bridge of her nose, you'll never see Diana without a pair of ultra-dark aviator shades. The reason? Like mentioned before, Diana's not too happy about showing off her body, including her eyes. She wants to be seen as an average girl and not a gorgeous Career tribute with high expectations of the family on her shoulders―but instead of defusing compliments about her irises, the ebony sunglasses give her an aura of mystery.
Personality: Diana's expression is always stuck in a resting bitch face. Always. Unreadable, quiet, ready to snap at a moment's notice. That's the image she and her brothers have trained themselves to assume, but in reality it's not a hard shell anyone should have to attempt to poke through. All three of the Sawyer siblings are just highly selective of their friends and allies―and all three are extremely capable of picking up bad attitudes radiating from other individuals. Should one prove to be incapable of likable traits, Diana would bite back with aggravation of her own. It's not until she hears a certain tone of voice, when greeted, that she begins to show a hint of positive or negative expression towards a person. However, despite seeming indifferent, Diana and her brothers are still goofy idiots (in an endearing sense), and they've always referred to their little trio as "the Cool Dudes." Both Diana and her twin brother love irony, and they absolutely love to find humor in karma, especially when watching reruns of past Hunger Games. Like the rest of her family, Diana often uses a considerable amount of profanity, and it's more obvious whenever she's annoyed. However, there is one minor setback in her personality―a tendency to take chances immediately, good or bad, a repetitive habit induced by her father's constant nagging.
Past: Diana's wealthy life, as you may have already guessed, is tightly intertwined with her siblings': There's also Duncan, who's older than the other two by eight years, and David, who is Diana's twin brother. The three of them are incredibly close, and this bond goes so far so to prank each other without warning―but they'll still forgive each other even if one of them has a serious injury in the aftermath. Each and every one of the Cool Dudes shares two traits: A desire for shades, and a grudge against their dad. None of the them ever truly liked their father, and for good reason, too. Back when Duncan was the only child, his parents, Brian and Roxanne, found amazing potential in him. Compared to David or Diana, he had more self-confidence, a good fighter. He immediately had Brian's favor―and Roxanne realized how dangerous that was to Duncan's mental stability, despite being an on-and-off drunkard herself. She took care of Duncan's nutrition and calmed him down gently in the spare time she had with him, while Brian encouraged him to start throwing rougher jabs during training. Soon, Brian and Roxanne's son developed into the best warrior, a fearless man―Duncan was the perfected tribute, the beautiful soldier that could both charmingly swoon ladies and scare off stronger men. What could go wrong?
Silence was what went wrong. For all six years, Duncan ignored his father's obsessive nagging and stayed behind while other tributes went on, either winning the Games or dying without another trace of their existence. He was never called to participate in the Games, nor did he ever volunteer, and when Duncan's sixth chance passed by, Brian began to realize that maybe he had been too soft on his eldest son. Maybe he had done something wrong. So, he took out this frustration on his younger children―and David and Diana both suffered under their father's control. The twins' childhood went from bright, spoiled, and adventurous to somber and painful in a matter of weeks. Brian did not dare to grow soft to the twins, in hopes that they, too, would harden themselves, but it didn't ever work. Every lesson he tried to teach them was ineffective. He even went so far as to actually use metal weapons; some of the equipment were rarely introduced to Games as weapons, like whips and flails. Diana and David instead had to be trained by Roxanne during the nighttime, who sobered up and was proven to be significantly wiser than her husband. She halted when they needed to stop fighting, patched them up when training was over. However, Roxanne's methods of teaching were nothing compared to Brian's; the twins' lives never balanced out. Over and over again, all Diana and David would hear in their dreams were their father's derogatory comments, his abusive language. And while Brian cared enough for his younger children to hold himself back from physically abusing them outside of training, he never saw them in the same light that he had once identified Duncan in. But Duncan was daring enough to share that spotlight. He offered Diana and David encouragement and affection that Brian never showed, smiling more around his siblings than he did around his parents or friends. Duncan really made them feel wanted―he and Roxanne were the only reasons for why Diana and David never quit on their training.
But, if you wish to ask Diana alone about how she feels about this year's Hunger Games, here's her answer:
"I'm so ready to wreck everyone's shit into outer space."
Weapon of Choice: Katanas and broadswords, baby.
Drawn/Volunteered: Drawn.
Token: You'd think it's her glasses, but nope―it's a half of a circle on a pendant that adjoins with David's.
Other: Because of Brian, Diana and David both have small but specific triggers: Extremely loud metal clanging, unneeded bloodshed, and loneliness. Diana and David also have set color palettes―black and red for David, gray and maroon for Diana.
