The anonymous tip-off came in just as Agent Emma Swan's shift was ending. The investigation she'd been working on had hit a wall earlier in the week and she'd thought the whole thing was going to be shelved. They regularly received calls offering up information but they were mostly dead ends. The tip-off had been a woman eager to give up the location of their prime suspect.
A scorned lover? A deal gone wrong?
It didn't matter. It was motivating enough that Emma quickly finished off her lukewarm coffee and grabbed her keys. The team had been notified as standard protocol dictated but Emma knew she would be first at the scene.

He'd taken one look at her and had known, known that she was there for him.
Emma identified herself before he ran straight at her. He was quick and got in a few hits before using his strength to push at her before escaping onto the street. He was trying to buy time and Emma was always up for a good chase.
Sucking in some much needed air she quickly wiped away the sweat dripping across her brow. Her eyes darted from side to side, pupils adjusting quickly to the fading light.
"Stop!"
Emma was breathless but there was no way she was going to let months of investigation go down the drain. Turning sharply around a corner, she could hear feet thundering down the dimly lit alley.
'Push...Push..." Emma repeated the mantra in her head over and over again as she gained on her suspect. She watched as he reached a wire security fence and attempted to climb. He wasn't the most agile of men and Emma knew that this was her chance.
Not even slowing down for one second she charged up behind and reached out to grab the man's back. Using her momentum and upper body strength she yanked hard backwards. The man's hands and feet were too big for the wire holes and he easily lost balance and fell back.
Emma watched as the man hit the ground with a resounding thud. Before he even had the chance to scramble away her foot was on his chest and her gun was out of its holster. His hands reached up to grab her ankle and she just growled at him.
"I wouldn't..."
It was all she needed to say before the struggling stopped and the man just accepted his fate.
Emma could hear the sound of heels on the pavement behind her and knew that her back up had finally caught up to her.
"Swan...that was..."
"Read him his rights." Emma cut of the officer abruptly.
Her colleagues were still amazed at her stamina and dedication to her job. It still surprised her. Wasn't that what all Agents strived for? Do your job and put the bad guys away!
Emma glanced up at the sudden flickering of lights, the cavalry had definitely arrived. Support vehicles now blocked off the alley and the familiar red and blue police lights had a slight smile gracing her lips.
"Emma," David Nolan's voice reached out to her above all of the chaos and she was grateful for a familiar presence. David was Emma's direct superior and quite frequently the one that co-ordinated and supervised her investigations.
"Nicely done!" David commended her before adding, "Next time wait for the team."
Emma felt the need to be snarky,
"Did you doubt me? I always get my man..."
