How To Help

We arrive at her apartment and I half expected for her to come running into my arms as soon as she saw the RV, but no such luck. I sigh, getting out of the car.

Please be ok, Emma.

I sigh, staring at how many rooms there are. There's no way that we'll find her. None of us know her address. I look to the others before walking to the first set of doors, knocking on every one.

I do this until about nine o' clock. August leads me away from the apartments and into the RV.

"How are we meant to find her when we don't know her apartment number?!" I yell, obviously frustrated.

"Calm down, Killian! We're all upset about this but if we let our emotions take control we won't get anything done!" David replies, grabbing my shoulders so I don't hurt anyone.

"This is not only my wife, but your daughter we're talking about! She hasn't done this since the time travel incident! I don't know what to do, David! If she ran from me, who can save her? Who will save her?" I ask, my guilt ridden voice cracking.

It becomes silent. You could hear a pin drop. I sigh, knowing that if I'm going to save her, I need to calm down. I look into David's eyes, feeling like the world is against me.

"I just can't lose her. She's my happy ending and I'm hers. You remember how I was during those five years. I could hardly stand to look at myself. I was a wreck. David, no matter what I do, I'll never be good enough for her, but I want to try. I have to try. Not only for my sake, but hers too."

"Killian, I know how you feel. You didn't fail her, I did. I'm her father and I failed to protect her. I'm not saying you drinking and crying over her was a good thing, but at least you didn't," he pauses, leaning close and bring his voice to a whisper. "cheat on your wife," his guilt ridden voice whispers.

My eyes widen in shock and I look him back in the eyes. I can tell how bad he feels. I notice that he's a bit skinnier then when I last saw him before today.

"David, you and Snow are closer than close, how did it happen?!"

"I was at the bar the night Emma was taken because I was angry at myself and the person who stole Emma from us. I had a little too much to drink and this woman walked in. She looked just like Snow. I now think it was the drinks, but this woman, she had Snow's face, Snow's body, Snow's voice. When I brought her back to my room I stopped thinking. I woke up that next morning, seeing not Snow next to me, but some random woman," he sighs, obviously trying not to slap himself.

"Interesting. Some woman who looked just like Emma tried to do the same with me, but I noticed she wasn't wearing her ring and revealed it was some random girl. Maybe the same thing happened to you!"

His eyes widen, relief evident in them. He's glad that it wasn't him, but still scared of what to tell Snow. I sigh, knowing he's going to have to tell not only his wife, but his daughter too.

"We should eat some dinner then call it a night. We're going to need our energy tomorrow," I begin.

"We should make a plan before we head to bed. It'll make things easier tomorrow," Snow pipes in.

I look over to her. I notice her eyes are red and puffy. She's been crying. I give her a questionable look, but she just turns away.

"Snow? What's wrong?" David asks, standing up quickly.

"It's n-nothing," she stutters. "We should make a p-plan, though... come on... food's also r-ready."

Her voice comes out a whisper, breaking with every word she says. I feel my heart sink, realizing she knows. I rise to a stand before walking over and hugging her.

She's taken aback at first, but accepts the hug. Her shoulders begin shaking as she begins to cry.

"Are you alright?" I ask, rubbing her back.

My mother-in-law shakes her head before dragging me into the other room. She shuts and locks the door, staring at me with wide eyes.

"He cheated on me, my daughter is missing, and she just lost her baby!" she shakes her head, sobbing. "Should I be ok?!"

"Snow, he thought it was you... I know that doesn't justify whatever it is that motivated him to go home with you that night, but I'm sure it'll be ok. Right now, as much as I hate to say this, we need to focus on Emma. She needs us. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you."

She nods, wiping away her tears. I sigh, but she knows I'm right. David got himself into this mess, he's going to have to get himself out of it. I unlock the door and lead her into the other room.

We all sit down and begin devising a plan to find my Swan while eating tacos. We all agree it'd be best to each take a floor and if we find the apartment, send a text to the others.

"Alright well, let's all hit the hay. We need our rest for tomorrow," David begins, standing up.

"Right, but I think you and Snow should talk for a bit. Come on August. They need their time," I reply, leading August out of the room.

I sigh as August and I change into our boxers. He gives me a questionable look and I sigh, knowing I'll have to tell him anyway.

"David met this woman while Emma was missing. The woman made herself look and sound like Snow. He took her home, thinking it was Snow..."

"So... David cheated?"

"Yes, by accident."

"How's he gonna tell Snow? How's he gonna tell Emma?"

"I'm not sure, but for now, we should get some rest."

August nods before laying on his bunk. I do the same, laying on my back and thinking of Emma.

Soon enough, I drift off, holding only her ring in my hand.

I will find you, Swan. No matter what.
