We pull up to the house Nikki staying in and this bitch is nice. From what Jazz say, this the nigga Roc was beefing with when they were young. They not beefing now, but they told me to be careful around these niggas. And I plan on doing just that. Before we get out the car my phone rings, it my little cousin K’terri.
“Hello.”
“Twerk something.” She yells into the phone. I begin dancing in my seat while we both sing “Aye” into the phone.
“What you want fool?” I ask her when we’re done clowning. Nikki is sitting here cracking up laughing at us.
“Aye when y’all coming back, I’m bored than a bitch. Ain’t nothing to do since y’all been gone.” She says sounding like she’s bored to death.
“I don’t know yet. Mom and Roc all in love and shit, so we might be here a couple more days.” I tell her.
“What? Tell Roc I didn’t agree to that. He knows how we get down, tell him we have to do lunch when he comes back down here all about my TeTe.” K’terri said laughing.
“Girl, Jazzy already tried that.” I tell her laughing.
“Tell her to find her something to do, I’m trying to up my gear. She always messing up my flow. She don’t even need to go shopping, heffa.” She said making me laugh even harder.
“Girl I’m about to go in the house with Nikki, I’ll call you back later.” I tell her.
“Wait, who the hell is Nikki?” She yells into the phone.
“Long story nosy ass, I’ll tell you later when I call you.” I laugh reminding her before I hung up on her.
“Who was that?” Nikki asked me.
“My little cousin, she’s a trip. She’s also me and Diamonds assistant.” I tell her.
“What exactly do y’all do to need an assistant?” Nikki laughs.
“You ever heard of Risqué Nikki?” I ask her. She’s about to flip out if she has. If she hasn’t then I’m going to flip out.
“Well yeah, but what does that have to do with y’all?” She looked me. I just stared at her for a minute to let it register.
“No. That can't be y'all. I mean I’ve heard about Risqué but I don’t get all into that fashion shit. Not like everybody else, you know I can’t afford that shit any way.” She said looking out the window.
“Girl you don’t have to worry about that anymore. Those days are over, you with family now and we take care of each other.” I tell her.
“Jade I don’t want to be around y’all for money. I tell Jabari the same thing. I mean look at this house, this nigga could buy anything he wants. He’s my guardian angel and all he wants to do is take care of me. But all I want to do is take care of myself. Something my daddy taught me to do. And I know he’s watching me wondering, when are you going to get yo shit together Nikki?” She said damn near crying.
“I don’t think that’s what he’s saying, not at all. I think he’s saying relax baby girl, you’re with your family now. Just breathe. And believe me when I say, you will work for everything you get. We not the mission and we don’t take care of bums. So, with that being said let’s go get you cleaned up before Mom and Jazzy think we not coming back. They’ll be calling us in a matter of seconds trust me.” I laugh as we get out the car. We walk up to the door and before Nikki could pull her keys out the door its snatched open and the person on the other side of the door is snapping off.
“Where the hell you been and why haven’t you called home. We were about to go tear shit up looking for you.” This fine older dude was saying to her. Nikki just shook her head and pushed her way thru the door.
“I told you I would be fine. I was working, you can’t know my every move. I was well protected, I promise. Roc was nothing but a gentleman and he even promoted me. Then I ran into some old friends and we hung out, it got late so we crashed. I just came home to get some clothes. I’m going to be gone for a couple days.” She told him.
“What you mean he promoted you, in the first couple of weeks? What that nigga up too. I told you I didn’t trust them. Nikki, you too naïve when it comes to these niggas out here.” He said. I thought it was time I made my presence known. I don’t know these niggas and him talking about Roc like that was making me uncomfortable. I cleared my throat.
“Oh, Jade I’m sorry. Jabari this is Jade, Rocs……” She stopped and looked at me waiting for me to finish her sentence.
“Step daughter.” I said smirking at him. Waiting to see what this nigga was about to say.
“Step daughter, that nigga not married. Who are you, and what games you running on my fam?” He said looking at me like I was crazy, the whole while getting closer to Nik.
“First off, ain’t nobody running game on MY family.” I say giving him the stank look right back.
“Yo family?” He asked, looking at me then Nikki. She had this dumb ass look on her face. While nodding her head.
“My long-lost family.” Was all she said. That must’ve meant something because he relaxed a little.
“Ok, tell me what the hell is going on.” He said walking into the sitting room.-----------------------------------------------------------short chapter I know, there will be a couple more before all the drama comes! Get ready, it's about to get crazy! Thanks for reading, and don't forget to.....
