Chapter 20

We left and went to our hotel suite. We decided to talk to Kaden while getting him ready for bed.
“So, Kaden you know Ms. Zee is sick right baby?” I ask him.
“Yea mommy she said she was tired. I don’t want her to be tired.” He said looking sad.
“I know baby, so we’re giving her a break. Would you like to come stay with me? And you can come visit Ms. Zee and Kaine whenever you want, and they can visit us too.” I told him smiling.
“Can I have friends at your house?” he asked me. He’s just so cute.
“As many as you like, plus you got sisters and aunties and uncles too remember.” I told him.
“Do I get to meet my sisters if I move with you?” He asked me jumping up and down.
“Man calm down, yea you do. And you get to meet your cousin too, remember lil Raheem? He’ll be there too.” Roc told him.
“But I thought he lived with you, how will I see him if I live with mommy? Will I still see you Roc?” he asked Roc. Now is the time to explain to him what’s going on with us. Although he’ll probably be happy about that.
“Kaden, me and mommy are going to take care of you together. So yeah you will still see me, I’m not going anywhere.” Roc reassured him.
“Are you gonna be my daddy?” Kaden asked Roc looking up at him with so much anticipation. I didn’t know what to do or say to this question. Roc stood there smirking at me, he knew I was freaking out.
“K I’ve always been your daddy, just like mommy’s always been your mommy. We’re a family now. You, me and mommy.” He told him.
“What about my sisters, are they our family too?” Kaden asked him.
“Man I guess so, but I think you need a lil brother. Too many woman na’ mean, we need another man in the family.” Roc told him.
“Oh, mommy can I have a lil brother please?” Kaden asked jumping on the bed. I looked at Roc like nigga don’t make me kill you.
“How about a puppy instead K, I’ll think about a lil brother. What if it’s a lil sister though?” I asked just to piss Roc off. He looked at Roc and they started whispering. See what I mean, he’s corrupting my baby.
“Well you keep trying until it’s a lil brother. Me and daddy really want a boy, to many girls already.” He said looking at Roc to make sure he answered right. His face lit up when Roc nodded his head at him. Then these fools gave each other dap. I shake my head and laugh at them, I’m done. I get up and walk out the room to get Kaden’s clothes ready for tomorrow. Thank god I had stuff in the car for him, looks like it will all be going back with us. After 20 minutes of getting all our stuff ready and taking a shower getting ready for bed myself.  I go back into the room to see Kaden half sleep up under Roc.
“Hey my baby, you ready to go to sleep.” I ask Kaden, but Roc’s stupid ass answered.
“Why you always trying to get me in the bed ma?” His special ass asked trying to be funny.
“I wasn’t talking to you, I was talking to Kaden. But you always look tired, I think you need some rest.” I tell him laughing, not realizing what I said. Kaden shot up in the bed and looked at Roc.
“Go to bed daddy, I don’t wanna call the ambulance for you too. You can’t go away you just became my daddy.” Kaden tells him pushing him out the bed. I’m cracking up laughing looking at Rocs face. He looks at me laughing and mugs me.
“Daddy got six jobs I don’t get tired.” He told Kaden dancing in place. Kaden jumped up and started singing Kevin Gates with Roc.
“I don’t get tired.” That’s all he kept saying. This little boy is funny as hell.
“Well little boys do get tired, so it’s time for bed.” I tell him.
“I’m not tired mommy, can I sleep with you and daddy?” he asked me yawning and rubbing his eyes.
“Yea come on, you can protect mommy while I get ready for bed.” Roc grabs him and carries him into the other room. We get in bed and he falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow. I’m almost asleep when Roc comes back in the room. He climbs in the bed with us and pulls us closer to him and we’re all out like a light. The next morning we’re awaken by Roc’s phone ringing. He rolls over and answers it.
“Hello, yeah we getting up now.” He said getting up out the bed. As he talked on the phone I woke Kaden up so he could go brush his teeth and get dressed. Roc came back in and handed me the phone. We switched places and he finished getting Kaden ready.
“Hello.”
“Hey sis, I’m getting ready to get on this plane. I’ll be there in a few of hours, so get yo ass up and get a move on girl.” Quan told me laughing.
“We up, thanks to you. I got a surprise for you bruh, I’ll see you when you get here. I love you. Bye.” I said and hung up. I go back into the room and get dressed. We all have on True Religions and white tees with Jay’s on. We check out and go to get breakfast before heading to the hospital. I call to see if Ms. Zee has a special diet, we’re going to eat breakfast with her before we go. We picked breakfast up and headed to the hospital. When we walked in to Ms. Zee’s room she looked better already. The nurse told us she has been on her best behavior since we left. As soon as Kaden walks in he immediately jumps up on the bed hugging and kissing her. She just hugs him tightly, while smiling at me.
“Guess what auntie Zee, I’m going to live with mommy. And Roc’s my daddy now.” He told her smiling hard.
“I know baby, I’m going to miss you so much.” She told him smiling at him.
“No you won’t, mommy said I can come visit you. And you and Kaine can come visit me. Whenever we like, right mommy?” he asked me.
“That’s right baby. Whenever you guys want.” I told him reassuring him.
“See I told you, so you don’t have to miss me.” He told her like it was that easy. We ate breakfast, laughed and spent some time with her before we had to jumped on the road.
“Why don’t you ask daddy to take you to the park outside that we passed.” I told him looking at Roc.
“Oh, can we daddy?” he asked Roc excitedly.
“Come on lil dude, let’s go.” Roc told him laughing.
“Kaden, come say bye to Aunt Zee first. Then mommy will meet you and daddy outside, then we can go see your sisters” I told him. He ran and gave Ms. Zee a hug and a kiss then ran out the door with Roc.
“I want to remind you of what I said, he is always available to you. And you call me if you need anything. We have to get on the road my brother is on his way to meet me at Rocs.” I told her. I was getting ready to hug and she stopped me.
“Niq these are all the papers you will need for Kaden. You are officially his mother now, I had the attorney put everything in your name. I knew this day was coming so I took the steps needed to make sure Kaden would have you just in case something happened to me. He has legally been your son for about 6 months.” She told me looking at me. I just nodded my head because I didn’t know what to say to her. I took the papers and briefly looked them over before putting them in my purse. I then hugged her and told her to call me when she was ready to see lil man and Nikki. We said our goodbyes and I went in search for the two new men in my life.
