Dear Anna,

My mom asked if I was okay this morning. I couldn’t get a single word out of my throat because my head was throbbing so badly. This just about sums up our conversation:

Mom: Connor, are you awake?

Me:

Mom: What's wrong with you, Connor? You've been skipping school for almost a month. I know that you think it's your fault about what happened last month, but it really isn't. Accidents happen all the time. Just go to school, dear. Doing something distracts you from thinking negatively rather than doing nothing.

Me:

Mom:

Mom:

And then she left.

Last night, I dreamt of you.

You were in a field of flowers and you were laughing. I was there too, you ran up to me and hugged me. You looked so happy in my dream.

I wished I could’ve live in that dream forever because you’re there with me. I don’t want to wake up anymore.

There’s so much of regret, Anna.

Connor.
