Scarlett's P.O.V.

I kicked and I screamed as loud as I could.

Nothing seemed to be working.

The bozo who had me was strong. Stronger than me. By a long shot.

I wanted to morph so badly. I honestly did.

My strength wasn't back up yet, or I would morph into a bear and rip them to shreds.

Finally Kevin and the henchman stopped running. We were at some old building.

They entered and plopped me onto a chair. I felt ropes tighten around me and I struggled to get out.

Kevin got straight in my face. "Hey sweetie. You and me."

I scowled at him.

He leaned in and our lips touched.

My eyes grew wide and I brought my head back. Then I savagely smashed my head into his.

He fell on his rump. Kevin stood up briskly and rubbed the goose egg that was starting to form on his head.

He slapped me.

I gasped and hung my head. My cheek was stinging.

"You will learn to love me." With that Kevin left the room.

His henchman left after him.

I struggled against the ropes but nothing worked.

With a sigh, I dropped my head.

A few men walked in. I didn't look at any of them in the eye.

"This is the girl that Kevin is after?" asked one boy.

"Apparently." spat another.

"She's not all that good looking." Another commented. "Is there something else that he could possibly want her for."

I looked up. "You know that I can hear you."

One boy got in my face and whispered, "What does he want you for? Is there a secret you are hiding?"

My face must have paled because they all started laughing and the walked out of the room.

I scowled. I closed my eyes and tried to get some sleep. Hoping that it would all be a dream.

When I woke up, I realized that I was in the back of a car and it was moving.

I looked around me quickly. Two men sat on either sides of me, not even attempting to hide their hand guns.

I was scared, but I couldn't leave. Not yet.

If Kevin knew about our abilities, I wanted to know how.

I could easily morph and take out all of these guys, but I needed info.

Lucas would understand.

He had to.

The car came to a stop and I nearly fell off my seat.

Kevin walked in and picked me up.

I didn't struggle but fixed him with a glare.

We walked through a maze of hallways in the darkness.

We walked through a door.

I squinted against the sunlight.

When my eyes finally adjusted, I saw that we were on the roof of a tall building.

Kevin walked to the edge and peered down.

My stomach grew nauseous at the thought of not being able to morph in time.

Kevin grinned then grabbed me by the shoulders and turned me to face him.

One of his henchmen walked to me and stabbed a needle in my upper arm.

I flinched. "What was that?"

"To keep you from morphing."

I gasped and looked at Kevin.

He grinned mischievously. "With you by my side, I can rule this city. Easy."

I started to reject, but Kevin interrupted me.

"You reject me and I give you a simple push. You will hit the ground and die." He shook his head. "If I can't have you, no one can."

My face paled and a shiver ran down my body.

"So, Scarlett. What is your choice?"

My head dropped.

"You can have me."

Kevin grinned and grabbed my hand. He slipped a ring onto my finger and turned to one of his henchmen.

"We need to start planning a wedding. Take her down to my room. I will deal with her later."

I froze. He would, WHAT NOW?!?!?

I was picked up and taken back inside the building. I surveyed anyway out of this situation. I tried morphing but I couldn't. I wondered how long it would be until it wore off.

The man set me on a bed and left the room.

I wiggled, trying to get out of the ropes.

I froze as the door was opened.

Kevin walked in and grinned at me.

Then he came and sat next to me.

I gulped.

He gave me stern stare. "No headbutts this time, or I will throw you off the roof."

He leaned in.

I stared at him as our lips got closer.

I wanted to pull away so hard.

The door opened and Kevin shot back.

I gave a sigh.

A man stood in the doorway. "Kevin, there is a few members from the Eastern gang outside. They look like they are ready to storm in here and kill a few people." He paused. "I believe you still owe them money."

Kevin cursed.

Then he stood.

"Pack everything up. We need to get out of here." Then he turned to me. "One day, when you learn to love me, we will control everything."

Then he left.

I relaxed.

The bindings were starting to hurt my wrists.

I looked up at the ceiling.

Where are you, Lucas?
