A Hungover Sport Teacher

Mr De'ath seemed like a normal teacher. Sure he was always drunk but in this school thats as normal as you can be. When Evelyn walked into the gym after her unusually short lunch break, she saw him lying down on one of the wooden benches used for jumping over or standing on, (simple exercise like that). After she figured out if he was unconscious or not, she looked around the gym to see if she could see anyone she recognised. Finally she saw Ivy and Yasmin leaning on a wall in the furthest corner away from the other humans. With a look of relief on her face, she walked up to them and waved.

"Erm, should we wake him up?" Evelyn looked over her shoulder to see that a couple of students were seeing how many plastic cups they could balance on his stomach. When she looked back she saw that Yasmin was now laughing to herself.

"Do you actually want to do exercise? It's better if we don't do anything because we'll get a free period" Yasmin pointed out as she stopped laughing. Evelyn just shrugged her shoulders. Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of Mr De'ath's snoring stopping.

"Wah?! Who goes there? I...I'll kill ya." The sport teacher sat up quickly and then cleared his throat when he realised that he was in school and meant to set an example for the children. The girls at the back of the gym turned around and slowly walked over to where everyone was gathered around the teacher. It was apparent that Mr De'ath had an Irish accent. Not only that, but it was extremely strong and everyone had to listen closely if they wanted to have a hint on what he was trying to say.

"So basically I've got a hangover and my sister didn't invite me to her fucking wedding last weekend. My life is a shitstorm so if you don't mind me, I'll be leaving now." He stood up and stumbled across the gym floor. With his finger in the air, he turned around on his heels to face the children. "Oh you can do whatever the fuck you want." On his way out of the gym he walked into a wall, said a quiet "sorry" before slowly walking, stumbling, out.

All of the students watched and waited until it was clear. When they were sure that Mr De'ath was gone, the entire gym soon turned into a battle field. Everyone was running around, chasing each other and even small objects were being flung around. It was beautiful to watch everything that could be thrown, flying through the air majestically, like an eagle. Evelyn's observation time was interrupted by Yasmin tugging on her arm. She turned her head to look back at Yasmin who didn't seem at all concerned for the well being of a child who was hanging on one of the ceiling lights above them.

"Come on let's leave before we get crushed by that light" Ivy pointed up at the light that was hanging above them. It was swinging back and fourth, like it was blowing in the wind. On said light was the child, a boy,  that had presumably been thrown, hanging upside down from his feet. Evelyn couldn't make out if he was happy or extremely terrified and prepared for death. Either way he was praying and repeatedly crossing his chest, as if he was hoping that some kind of greater being would spare him.

The girls quickly rushed out of the gym and closed the door behind them. Once the door was closed they heard a scream that was closely followed by a crash.

"Well, he's not our problem anymore..." Yasmin muttered calmly as she quietly walked away from the door.

Evelyn was horrified, "What? You mean that a boy just dies and you don't care? I either need some medical help as I'm clearly not in the same mindset as you 'normal' people, or you're the one who needs the help."

At this point Ivy started to wonder off to look at a very interesting frog species that can be located in many parts of the world. They dig homes for themselves in the winter to keep warm. In fact this species shouldn't even be out at this time, but I digress.

Yasmin turned on her heels and giggled slightly, "oh no he'll be fine, probably."

"What do yo—"

"I just mean that as we have now left the gym, we are no longer in the gym. So what is in the gym now is no longer our problem and the people who are currently in the gym have to deal with said problem if it may arise. However if this problem spreads to the outside, which is where we are now, then we will have to deal with the problem. But as the problem could start, might start, or will start inside the gym at any point when we are not there, then we don't have to deal with it because we are not at the location of the problem when it occurs." Yasmin explained with a completely straight face and without pausing. She giggled again and turned back around. "You really need to stop over complicating these things, now follow me and keep that voice of yours down. I think you're giving me a headache."

Evelyn rolled her eyes and reluctantly followed the incredibly loud girl. On her way to Yasmin's side, she concluded that it was probably impossible for a person such as Yasmin to keep her voice that loud and for them not to loose their voice. She also realised that they were just walking to the groups preferred lunch spot and not on their way to anywhere interesting.
