there's a reason why hyerin has been waking up very early every morning, and will be for who knows how long.

she's a part-time employee at a nearby cafe, not the starbucks one though, since there are high chances she will see a familiar face or someone dropping by and recognizing her. she doesn't want anyone to know about it and doesn't plan on telling anyone, there are things you simply want to keep to yourself.

besides, she doesn't want anyone asking her to get free coffee for them, making good coffee is not an easy task.

since it was still early in the morning, there were only very few customers and employees. hyerin sat by the front counter with a lyric sheet under her eyes, pen tapping impatiently against the table.

finally, the person she was waiting to arrive to take the next shift walked through the door. she quickly put the lyric sheets back inside a notebook and slung her bag over her shoulder, walking past her co-worker "it was about time hwitaek, you're 15 minutes late and i told you i have school"

"sorry, my bad. i didn't wake up at my alarm, i can make coffee in compensation!"

"i don't like coffee, thanks anyway, bye!" she waved at him and pushed through the exit.

the fact that hwitaek arrived 15 minutes late didn't really make her late, in fact she picked an early shift that wouldn't clash too much with her school schedules and in case any incidents like that happened. she still made it rather early, though the hallways were slowly getting crowded as more students were coming in.

as she started heading towards her first class, she heard someone push through the crowd and calling out for her behind her.

"excuse me- sorry, excuse me... yoo hyerin! excuse me yoo hyerin!"

the girl turned around to see a tall brunet rushing through the hallway, his arms loaded by what seemed like newspapers.

"yes?" she gave him a questioning look as he quickly bowed at her, out of breath "h-hi! i'm choi youngjae! i was told to talk to you and show you around since i'm in the welcome committee with jennie, but it seemed like my partner already did her part..."

"ah... jennie... but you don't need to show me around, i can find my way around school"

"o-oh okay that's fine!! but please feel free to come see me if you need anything! even to talk, it's fine i'll be free! i'm here to help!!" youngjae kept this cute and sincere smile on his face, which was honestly really contagious, but hyerin still managed to keep a straight face.

"that's sweet of you, i'll keep it in mind, thank you youngjae"

"just stop by classroom A407 if you need anything," he started taking a few steps back, already heading to his next location "i'm there most of the time, or other members of the committee can help you if i'm not there. i'm gonna get going, it was nice to meet you hyerin!" he waved at her and jogged away.
