Chapter 6: His Cousin

Brent's POV

Hi! I'm brent. Well, that's all you need to know.

I'm in the field right now, constantly practicing without even bothering to stop. I don't care, i need to win the upcoming football fight against the Rough Riders. They are also well-known for being such a good players in football. That's one of the reason why i can't stop practicing right now, but the second reason is because i'm the captain of this team. I'm carrying the name of blue cougars, it will be all up to me. I'm really determined to win. Although, i'm not going to deny the fact that i'm already worn out. I feel like i could no longer see anyone. My eyes are kind of getting blurry. I'm too exhausted. I feel like i'm about to collapse, but i can still manage to stand and walk. Nobody can talk to me right now. I told my buddies that i need to grab some water because i feel dehydrated. The two buddies i talked to before were Todd Green and Cameron Wentford. We already knew each other since we were in our mother's tummy. Anyway, I went to the bleachers where i put my bag to get my water. I saw Mia near my bag. As much as i want to talk to her, i really can't. I don't have much energy to entertain anyone right now. I just wanna be focused. Stay focused on what i'm doing. Well, to tell you, i've known Mia since freshman year. We never talk, i honestly don't even know why. It's funnny right? After four years ngayon lang kami nagkaroon ng chance to talk to each other.

*many hours passed by*

After the practice i realized how jerk i was. I did not even dare to say hi to Mia, i kind of feel she was disappointed that i did not even catch a glimpse of her, and i'm really truly sorry for that. I want to make it up to her. I went back to our classroom when one of my teammates called me.

"Tol, may naghahanap sayo sa may foyer! Babae, chicks nga eh! Hahaha" one of my teammates uttered.

"Sige lang, sunod na lang ako tol." I answered back. Due to curiosity, i went to the foyer to check out the girl, my teammate was referring to. For your information, foyer is an entrance hall.

"I miss you BB!" A girl shouted from my behind. I turned my head a little bit to check the girl who called me BB, but i wasn't able to face her fully because she immediately ran towards me and hugged me with force that she almost kissed my chin. Hahaha! Silly kid as ever. I know who this girl is. She's the only girl in my life who's been calling me BB. My cousin, Anica. Yup! You read it right! My cousin. She's very close to me since we were kids. You might get confused about our relationship because of how she calls me. Hahaha i know it sounds like an endearment but BB actually means 'Baklang Baboy' she loves calling me that ever since because i was fat before. Bakla came from no reason. She just love teasing me gay. She is just about my age. At first, i was shocked, but then the excitement took over my surprised emotion. I smiled at her. Gad! I miss this little rascal so much.

"I miss you too Anica" and hugged her back. "So, kelan ka pa bumalik galing U.S? Di ka man lang nagsabing andito ka na. Ganyanan na ba?" I told her jokingly.

"Eto naman tampo agad. Kahapon lang bb, sorry kung hindi kita nasabihan, gusto ko kasi masurpresa ka, which is mukhang effective naman diba? Hahaha" Anica said. "Anyway, i heard you're famous in this school? Hindi bagay! Hahaha eh ang loser loser mo kaya dati!" There she goes again, she really loves teasing me endlessly.

"You just said it! 'Dati' which means it was before. I know you know, people do change right? And i'm one of those people." I told her.

"Taray! English! Hahaha! Ewan ko sayo! Para sakin forever baklang baboy ka! Hahaha"

"Yabang na ah! Hahaha samin ka ba mastastay?" I asked her.

"Duh! Of course! Where else? So ano? Una na ako ha! I know you still have a class. Sorry if i disrupted you. I'll just see you at home." Anica said.

"Buti naman at alam mong istorbo ka! Hahaha! Sige alis ka na at my klase pa ako. Bye anica! See you at home!" I told her.

"Tsss. You should be thankful i even had the guts to visit my baklang baboy na pinsan. Hahaha! Sige na! Bye!" She said while waving her hand goodbye.

After our conversation, i headed back to our room for my next class.

After my class i went straight home, and Anica was unsurprisingly there. As usual, this rascal will be staying here for a little while.

"Hoy BB! I bumped into someone who seems to be a Demi- god and i think he's one of your teammates since he's wearing same unif---"

I did not let her finish. "O? So ano gusto mo sabihin? Tell it to me straight to the point."

"Eh g*go ka pala eh! Eh kung pinatapos mo muna kasi ako! Psh! So ayun nga may nakasalubong ako ubod ng gwapo and he asked me if i'm your cousin, and i told him yes, and then he told me that... you're already having crush on somebody, so dahil gusto mo straight to the point, sino sya?" *sigh* talikera talaga to, kala mo di laki ng states ang asal eh. Dami pang sinabi yun lang pala gusto nya malaman?! Kung sino 'siya'?! Wait, anong sya? Walang sya!

"Don't cuss you silly rascal! Do you want me to cut you tongue out? And what are you saying? Wala akong crush! Kung anu-ano nakakalap mong balita, mali mali naman" i told her.

"Sus! Sakin mo pa ideny! Lokohin mo lolo at lola mo! Wag ako!" She told me.

"Nah! Itulog mo nalang kayan yan? Jetlag lang yan dear cousin. I'll just take a rest, i had a long day today, i overused my body, i need to get some long nap. Feel free to do anything and feel at home cous! I'll be in my room if ever you need me" i told her.

"Hmp! Nakakatampo ka naman! Sige na nga! Pero wag ka pakasaya dahil i'll ask you every single day until you spill the beans and open it up to me. Have a nice long nap BB! Love ya! Hihihi" she said as she went to the living room.

*sigh* "what should I spill? Wala naman talaga akong crush so far. Wait... Wala ba talaga? Aish! Maybe you're just tired brent! You really need to take some rest! Kung anu-ano na pumapasok sa isip mo!" I told myself and went straight to my room.

I was lying in my bed when silly thought came across my mind. "It may sounds funny and fast but, i think i really do have crush" i smiled on that thought. "And i think i know to whom."

One name that my mind automatically uttered...

'Mia' i smiled. And with that, i fell asleep.
