Chapter 7: Closeness

Mia's POV

Rise and shine Miaaa! I'm going to have a long day ahead again. And as i promised last night, hinding hindi ko na papansinin si Brent! Hmp!

I got up from my bed and freshened up since i have school today. Oh! And to tell you, it's already FRIDAY! Which means, i won't be seeing Brent for 2 days! That'll be easier for me to stay away from him. Looks like fate is with me.

After i took a bath, i brushed my long, wavy, auburn hair, and put on my natural yet sophisticated look. I wore my mom's gold locket that she gave to me when i turned sixteen. I never wear this when going to school because i'm scared i might lose it. This is very special to me. I feel safe whenever i'm wearing this. I only wear this for a very special occasion. I know my mom wasn't always there for me, but whenever i wear this locket, i feel safe. I feel like she's just there for me. Looking at me and guiding me. She may not be there for me all the time, i understand. I still love her, and i'll always will. She died when i turned seventeen due to leukemia. She found out her leukemia just after i turned sixteen. It was already too late to treat her leukemia; so the doctor gave her at least a year to bid goodbye to her family.

*sigh* ang drama ko nanaman! I don't what to talk about it anymore, so change topic! After i fixed myself, i went down stairs and rode my way to school.

*Kriiiiiiiiiing*

Recess time! I'm too lazy to go down to the canteen, but i'm freaking starving! No choice, i have to go down. I don't want to starve myself to death. Hahaha FYI, i'm not on a diet. Hahaha i love foooood! So don't expect i'm sexy! My body is just normal. Not too fat yet not too skinny. The truth is, i don't want to go down cause i might meet Brent along the way.

I'm in the canteen right now, lining up. The line is freaking long! I'm already famished. I could no longer wait! Tsk!

Since i'm pissed off, i decided to step out of the line. I'm walking my way to our campus' cafe to grab hot chocolate and a slice of cake instead of grabbing some heavy food from the canteen. But then unfortunately, i bumped into someone i promised myself i will never talk to. I did not bother to look at him. Instead, i immediately walk away from him. I walked as fast i could. I heard him calling my name. I did not look at him, and continued walking away.

*panting* my heart is pounding hard right now! I felt like i had the worst decision ever! Why do i feel the guilt for snobbing him? Ugh! Arte mo talaga mia! Crush mo lang naman! I shouldn't be like this! I'm so affected! This is so stupid! I better stop snobbing him. It's not his fault anyway. My feelings are so random! Ang gulo! I know this is not love. Everything's way too fast for love. This is just a simple crush! Wala akong karapatan magalit sakanya. I'm the one who's wrong here. I should say sorry to him for being obnoxious.

I got back to my senses when someone called me from my behind.

"Mia!" Brent called me. I sighed once again before facing him with a smile on my face.

"Oh brent! Bakit? May kailangan ka ba?" I told him, still with a smile on my face.

"Uhmmm... Uh... Ano kasi... Ano... Ugh! Why am i even acting like this!" He told himself. Hahaha para syang baliw! Pero cute. Baliw na cute? Ano yun? Hahaha.

"Uy! Nahiya ka pa! Hahahaha! Sige na, sabihin mo na sakin! Mukha kang ewan jan eh" i told him.

He sighed. "Okay this is it! I.. I-i just want to know if.. Uhmm.. Are you keeping yourself away from me?" He said. "Well, i don't want to assume but.. I feel like you're trying to distant yourself from me. Iniiwasan mo ba ako? Or galit ka ba sakin? Did i do something wrong?" He continued.

I stared at him. Wala lang, i just want to. Hahaha!

"Ay! Yun ba nafefeel mo? Sorry ah! Hindi naman kita iniiwasan. Eto naman! Hindi lang siguro kita napansin nun!" I told him. "Uhmm, ano... Una nako ah! Gutom na kasi ako. I need to go to the cafe to grab something to eat."
