More Than One: A Smurf Story

Chapter 3

Papa awoke to pounding on his door. "Papa" someone yelled from outside. Papa ran to the door swinging it open to reveal Clumsy standing there amazement on his eyes. 

"Clumsy" Papa questioned. Next thing he knew Willow was there next to them. 

"What's going on" she asked, looking back and forth between Papa Smurf and Clumsy Smurf.

"Papa! Willow! It's Destiny!"

"What about Destiny?"

"She's awake" Clumsy exclaimed as he looked at Papa.

 Next thing they knew, they were running at the crack of dawn towards Destiny's house. Hefty and Smurfette were already there waiting outside the door, Brainy was inside. Clumsy tripped the last few feet in front of the house. Together they entered the house looking over at the bed.

Brainy looked away from Destiny and smiled at their family. Papa was the last one in and when he looked at Destiny he couldn't help but smile. His daughter was awake and okay. Destiny smiled as she looked at Papa. 

"Hi Papa" she smiled.

"Hi Destiny" Papa smiled, as a tear rolled down his cheek. 

"Awe Papa don't cry" she chuckled motioning for Papa to come to her. Once he was over to her Destiny reached up and gave Papa a hug. 

Hefty cleared his throat. "Well Destiny you look a lot better. You have the normal blue color and you don't look so tired."

"Hefty, first of all, she always looks great, and second, the reason for the loss of color and  tiredness is because it's the body's way of trying to heal. It sends more blood to the injury and it takes a lot of energy to heal an injury that has affected a muscle, bone or tissue" Brainy fired back.

Brainy's comeback made Destiny smirk and giggle. Everyone turned their attention to Brainy taken back on what he said.

"Brainy, what I think Hefty is trying to say is that I look like I'm alive and not like I'm clinging to life" Destiny stated.

"Yeah" Hefty exclaimed.

"Oh I knew what he meant I just wanted to say something" Brainy stated.

Willow smiled as she looked over at Hefty and Smurfette. She smiled more as she looked over at Papa. But what made her smile the most was the secret love Brainy and Destiny shared for eachother. 

"Well since you are awake and looking alive I will talk to Handy to see if he will make a wheelchair, cruch and cane for you. That is if you would like so, when you would like to, you can be outside and out of bed during all the stages of the healing process" Smurfette smiled and stated excitedly.

"Thanks Smurffette. You are a great sister" Destiny smiled back. 

"Alright well I'll go do that now. Come on Hefty" Smurfette said as she hurried out the door.

"And Papa and I have some things to look at in the forest to try and figure out what happened" Willow explained as she and Papa started moving towards the door.

Brainy, Destiny, and Clumsy watched as everyone left.

"I should probably go too. Stormy and I are going to go Dragonfly riding" Clumsy sighed as he moved towards the door.

"Alright have fun Clumsy and try to be careful" Destiny called after him as he ran out the door.

Destiny and Brainy were all alone again. Brainy couldn't help but feel kind of weird being alone with Destiny. Brainy went to say something but was cut off by a voice. "I heard what you said last night" Destiny whispered.

"I'm sorry" Brainy questioned, looking at Destiny a little suprised.

"I heard what you said about loving me" Destiny sighed.

"Oh that" Brainy nervously laughed.

Destiny laughed "It's okay Brainy."

"Really?"

"Yeah because to tell you the truth I like you too."

"You do" Brainy asked surprised.

"Yeah I do" Destiny smiled. Brainy smiled back and reached for Destiny's hand. She took it agreeing to the unfamiliar contact. 

"So um would you like to um like to go on a...." Brainy stuttered.

"Yeah I would like that but it will have to be when I'm able to walk" Destiny laughed looking at Brainy blushing. Brainy smiled at her and, even though it was day time now, both were feeling tired. So together they drifted into another long sleep.

SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING IN SO LONG. I GOT A JOB AND SCHOOL IS STARTING BACK UP SO I'VE BEEN SUPER BUSY.  Well let me know what you think so far and don't forget to vote.
