THREE
FOUNTAIN
____Asgardian steel clashed with Asgardian steel as sweaty palms struggled to keep leather hilts within their clasps. Tucks, jabs and parres were thrown at either opponent, both who were quick on their toes to divert the incoming blade or dance around it. Breaths were heavy and rapid as beads fell down their foreheads, noses and the backs of their necks. Points clashed with armour and, in defeat, Rán dropped her sword as Thor stood triumphant. He dropped his sword and held out a sweaty palm. She took it in hers.
"Good game, sister." He said with a warm grin. Rán smiled tightly at her brother before tugging his arm towards her, and with a twist and a duck, Thor found himself on the floor with Rán kneeling on his chest. He laughed wholeheartedly and she grinned widely before he knocked her down onto the floor beside him. The sun was sweltering with no signs of cooling down, until their squinted views were blocked by a large lady-shaped shadow looming over them.
"Rán, that is not lady like at all." The blonde queen said with her hands on her hips. The thirteen year old princess sat up immediately and sent her and her brother's weapons away to the armoury with a single swipe of her hand. She stood up and brushed her armour down as Thor slowly sat up himself.
"Sorry, mother." She bowed her head down. Frigga frowned as Rán's plaits fell out of place.
"You should know better than to fool around with your brother and join in in his horseplay. You're a lady coming of age, and what's more, a princess. If you're going to be doing anything it is practicing the craft. Now go and change, you look as though you've slept in a horses trough." Frigga said sternly before walking out of Thor's practice battle arena.
"You smell as though you have too!" Loki's voice appeared from nowhere, and suddenly he was everywhere. Next to the swords or the maces, on a balcony where bystanders watched the practicing soldiers, in the entry hall or right next to Thor. Loki appeared in many places at once. Rán turned to the Loki at the balcony.
"Care to join us, brother?" She called up to him. The other Loki's flickered away until he was the only one left.
"No, I don't particularly want to be within a ten mile radius of you, currently. Don't want to smell as though I've been out of the palace grounds." He smiled grimly. Rán rolled her eyes and turned to Thor.
"A lift?" She questioned and he answered with a nod. The two walked to just before the balcony and Thor crouched down and grasped Rán's thin legs in his hands. With speed and force, he jumped upwards and let go of Rán, where her brother's strength sent her flying just high enough so she could grasp the stone railing. Loki stood before her and put his hands on hers. "Loki, don't be a prick." She said sternly as it seemed as though he was about to loosen her grip. She struggled to lift herself much higher.
