Chapter 12

I was lying on a hospital bed physically shaking, it was my first chemo treatment today. Justin was on my left holding my hand tightly smiling over at me and my dad sat on my right, his knee bouncing rapidly out of nerves.

"Dad calm down, I think your more nervous than me." I laughed causing him to smile

"Sorry." He mumbled smiling

"Your going to be alright Chels." Justin whispered kissing my cheek

I smiled and kissed his hand gently just as my doctor walked in.

"Hey Chelsea, how ya feeling?" She smiled

"Okay." I sighed "A bit more tired than usual and im still throwing up." I said looking at her

"Thats completely normal Chelsea, hopefully the Chemo will cure your leukemia. Now the Chemo will make you alot more weak and tired than normal, you will also vomit alot more but thats just your bods way of fighting the disease off." She explained

"If it works." I said truthfully

"Its gonna work Chelsea." Justin said squeezing my hand

"All you can do is stay positive Chelsea." My doctor smiled

"Now, I need you to lay on your side." She said rolling a tray towards my bed

I rolled on my side so I was facing Justin, he smiled and rubbed my hand.

"This is going to sting a bit Chelsea." She warned

I nodded my head and closed my eyes tightly, I felt a burning sensation in my back and let out a whimper as hot tears rolled down my face.

"Shhhh." Justin whispered running his fingers through my hair

Finally it was over but I was still uncomfortable from the needle in my back.

"Its going to take a while Chelsea, ill come back in a bit and check on you." She said before walking out

"Its hurts Justin." I whispered as another tear fell

"Hey, dont cry your okay." He whispered wiping my tear

"Across the ocean, across the sea. Starting to forget the way you look at me, over the mountains across the sky, I need to see your face I need to look in your eyes. Through the storm and through the clouds, bumps in the road and upside down I know its hard to be asleep at night dont you worry." He pause and looked in my eyes "Cause everything's gonna be alright, be alright."

"And you know that I care for you, ill always be there for you. I promise ill just stay right here, I know that you want me to, baby we can make it through anything and everythings gonna be alright." He kissed my forehead and smiled "I love you so much Chels." He whispered causing my heart to skip a beat

"I-I love you to." I smiled

"Your so beautiful." He whispered pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear "So." He kissed my cheek "Beautiful." He kissed my forehead

For the first time in a while I felt loved, I felt that everything would truly be alright. I had the person who meant the most to me sitting in front of me, when I looked in his eyes it reminded me of all the good, and bad times we shared. The times that made us who we are today.

"Chelsea?" Justin said looking at me

"Hmm?" I giggled

"Will you be my bestfriend again?" He asked shyly

"Of course Jay." I laughed kissing his cheek

He smiled and giggled adorably.

"Chelsea, how are you doing?" My doctor asked walking in

"Good, just a little tired." I yawned

"Thats normal, you still have 20 minuted left so ill be back then." She smiled before leaving again

"Dad?" I said

"Hmm?" He hummed behind me

"I love you." I said smiling

"I love you to sweetheart." His voice cracked

"You promised dad." I sighed

"Sorry baby, its just hard." He sniffed

"I know, but no crying. Please, I hate it when people cry especially when im the reason." I said

"Okay, I wont anymore." He sighed

I smiled and looked at Justin who was sitting in the chair next to my bed, his head resting on my hand. He was just as tired as I was due to the fact he stays up all night laying with me, hes scared something will happen so he refuses to sleep when I do. I ran my fingers through his hair gently and smiled. He looked so adorable when he slept.

"Chelsea, your times up." My doctor Matthews said smiling

She took out the needle in my back and I sat up slowly, Justin woke up and yawned. "All done?" He asked looking at me

"Mhmm." I smiled

I stood up but instantly fell back on the bed, Justin grabbed my hand and supported me. "Your going to be weak, remember babe?" He smiled

"Right." I laughed "See you thursday Dr. Matthews." I smiled

"Get some rest Chelsea." She smiled before Justin picked me up

"I can walk Justin." I laughed as we walked out of the hospital

"Carrying you is fun." He laughed

When we got in the car he set me in the back of the SUV then climbed in after me, I rested my head on his shoulder as my dad started the car. Justins hand found its way to mine, entangling itself with mine as this other rubbed my shoulder soothingly. I heard him humming something before I fell asleep.

Justins POV

I smiled as I looked down to see Chelsea asleep on my shoulder, once we pulled into the driveway I carefully lifted her out of the car and carried her bridal style up to her room where I set her on her bed. I pulled the covers over her and tip toed out of her room back downstairs where Fredo and Scooter were talking.

"Hey man." Fredo bro hugged me

"Hey." I smiled

"Howd it go?" He asked looking between me and Scooter

"Good, shes tired and fell asleep on the way here." I laughed grabbing a apple from the fridge

"Thats good, she needs sleep. So do you." Fredo said seriously

"Im fine man." I lied

"Your lying, you have bags under your eyes man, you need sleep." He said frowning

"Fine, ill go get some sleep right now." I sighed throwing the apple core away and jogging back upstairs

I opened Chelseas door and tip toed in, I took my shoes and shirt off before climbing under the covers next to her. Instantly she cuddled up into my chest, her head lying on my cross tattoo. I smiled running my fingers through her soft hair as my eyes got heavier and heavier. I tried to keep them open but eventually I fell into a deep sleep.
