I look down at Rudy and ruffle his head fur. A small smile creeps on my face as I am walking to the front door. I use my key and went in. I hear talking in the living room. I slowly fix my hair and tell Rudy to behave. I set my bag down and walk into the living room.
I notice the house is alittle more tidier than it would have normally been. I walk in and I first see a young couple talking to my "mom" and they smile when they see me.
"Hello" they say at the same time.
"Hey! My name is Rain." I say biting my lip.
"My name is Willow and this is Rob. We want to adopt you." She says kindly.
"I would love to be adopted by you ma'am" I say kindly.
"We have a son and I think he would love having you around. And we have always wanted a dog." She says
"Is your son with you?" I ask
"Yes he is in the restroom..." she says and looks around. "I have heard you through a baseball bat through your foster moms car?" She asks looking worried.
"Yeah. She tried to get rid of Rudy and Rudy is all I have left of my REAL parents. Plus she was half drunk from that night." My eyes go wide realizing what I just said and I look around awkwardly.
"Should I go pack my things!?" I say to ease the tension.
They nod looking worried and feeling sympathetic for me. I go up stairs and go into my room with Rudy. I see a boy standing in the middle of the room.
Jonah.
"JONAH WHAT THE HELL!! WHY ARE YOU IN MY ROOM!?" I yell only so he can hear.
"Your room? Wait....your...you never told me..-"
"Yeah I am a foster child and my life is screwed up and the only people that can help me is your family."
"Oh...." he looks down at my Harvard shirt and looks back up at me, "Harvard? Really?"
"I got it from goodwill ok? Don't be judging. Not everyone is rich. Now if you can excuse me I need to pack." I say grabbing boxes from the closet from outside. I take out my drawers and put my shirts, jeans, socks, underwear, bras and the rest of clothing in one bag.
I get a sharpie and label it "Clothes"
I grab my bed blankets and quilt my mom made for me when I was small and put it in the box. I close it and label it "Blankets"
I continue for the rest of the things and Jonah helps with the rest. We load up the car and my new parents and brother wait for me in the car as I say goodbye to my "Mom"
"I never gave a crap about you piece of shit. Getting drunk every night and never feeding me is not something I would ever thank you for. Therefore. Screw you. Have a nice time in hell. Tell the devil I said hi." I say smiling at the end. Rudy barks at her and growls and we leave the house. Finally. Free at last.

Jonah P.O.VIm still hooked. I can't believe that's Rain never told me she was in a foster home. We gonna have a talk later. But she did save my popcorn buns. But we still need to talk. BUT I'm FINALLY not the only child anymore. "Oh rain don't worry about getting your boxes. Jonah can get them for you," mom said. "Why I gotta get the bags what if I have back problems," I mumbled to myself. "We're already here?"Rain asked looking out the window.
