Eyes

Eyes as dark as night, once were Brown, but now have lost their light.
Sad, lost, and afraid, can't find a way out.

Hurt again, there they go, darker than the darkest soul.
Want to escape the dark, but haven't found a way.

Only know what people tell them, covered with glasses, in pain.
Dark circles under, from lack of sleep at night.

Never seem to lose the wetness they find harder to hide.
They have one question, one word, one wonder....
"Why?"
