* Natasha's POV *

The guard disappeared behind the flint colored bricks of the hallway, leaving me standing there. An evil smirk slithered across my face, rapidly growing as my thoughts took a dark turn.

My future with the man I loved was about to be secured with the blood of someone who had previously threatened it. No one could tear us apart, no one could come destroy our relationship. I had finally gotten my one true love, and finally having him was the best feeling in the world.

 Screaming echoed from where the guard had run to, signaling that the girl had been caught. In a short amount of time she would be locked away behind the cold bars of the dungeon, awaiting a trial with the king. But unless it happened before the full moon, there would be no trial before the king let alone any villagers. The only ones who had a choice of deciding her fate were the wolves, and it was already written in crimson.

I trailed back to the room from which I had run, maintaining my appearance of the innocent, teary eyed girl who had stumbled upon a crime at the wrong moment. No one would doubt me, not even the king. None of them knew any of my back story and the evidence stacking upon the doe-eyed brunette was by far too much to even consider incriminating me.

At the bend of the corridor wall, I stopped and poked my head around. Bear was stationed outside of his chamber, a somber look gracing his face. He had played his part well. His hair was mussed and his clothes were in utter disarray. I could only imagine the state of his room, given our theatrics.

I stayed hidden with the shadows and maintained my sentry-like station. With the new chaos no one would bat an eye at me.

My eyes drifted away from the prince, looking to see if there would be another outburst from the detainee. None came, but there was a voice echoing around me.

'Now that you have the girl, how do you plan on getting her out for your proposed game?' Ah, the ever hypercritical voice of my dear wolf, Naomi.

'Oh my dear wolf, are you doubting me?' Yes, she was only looking out for me. Yes, she was the one and only person who had always been there for me. But, there is only so much you can take from some who constantly suffocates you with their overbearing protectiveness.

'Maybe I am.' Through our link I could feel her raise her muzzle and sniff indignantly at the air. 'But if I am doubting you then it is for the best. You should know that by now.'

'If you say so, but doubting me will only get you so far. Now, as for the girl, I plan on stealing the keys to her cell so we can have some fun with her. The guards wouldn't deny Bear and I a chance to question her, which will allow us the utmost chance of stealing her away.'

'That is quite a devious plan, but from you I would expect nothing less.' Naomi faded into the farthest reaches within the back of my mind, signaling that she had ended our talk and was indeed mulling over this new information.

Now that my wolf had insight on the event soon to occur, it was time to inform Bear. I stepped around the wall, coming fourth from the murky depths of my shadowy disguise. He stood not even thirty yards away from where I had emerged, such a short distance away.

"Excuse me, miss..." A gravely voice and a large palm wrapping around my upper arm stopped me in my tracks. I was spun around to meet the chest plate of a staggeringly tall and burly man. A growl threatened to tear through my throat and I opened my mouth to retaliate before noticing the intricate carvings on his armor which depicted two wolves and a moon set against a midnight background.

"Yes?" I asked trying to sound innocent and confused rather than miffed and angry like I really was.

"This area is not open to anyone right now and if you are snooping around here then I'm sure the prince would like to inquire why." His gaze was hard and his grip was iron tight as he glared down at me. Had I been a fiend like he was questioning, I would have been worried. But I wasn't so if I was dragged off to be questioned by the prince, like he claimed, it would only benefit me.
