Eunji shut the apartment door quietly, and crept into the room.

"Where have you been, young lady?" Ryan said, turning on the lamp next to him. He was sat in the old recliner that Eunji had brought from home. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow, humming, begging for a response.

"You're not my dad, Ryan. Besides, I had a date, remember?" she said as she took off the pea coat dress, revealing the white, tight fit tank top she wore under it. Ryan cleared his throat and averted his eyes. "What? I'm not naked like this morning."

"You seem upset. What happened?" he asked as he got up, walking up to Eunji and helping her untie her shoes. They sat down on the couch and she sighed tears swelling in her eyes.

"It was awful, Ryan. I was totally played." He sat up and looked over at her.

"What do you mean, played? Hey, hey. Don't do that." He wiped away her tears.

"Thank you." she said sniffing. "It was staged. The whole thing, it was recorded. All of his friends came over to mess with it. He wasn't really interested." she said as she leaned into his chest. "I feel humiliated." Ryan pulled her closer and stroked her hair.

"It'll be okay. It was just one date. It's not a big deal, right?" Eunji sat up and pulled the envelope out of her dress pocket.

"Do you want to go to a BTS concert with me?" she asked as she pulled the backstage passes out.

"What? Isn't that the gay Kpop band you like?" he asked

"Not gay. I got these from my date. He said to bring a friend, and you are like my only friend." She pulled out her phone and pulled up a picture of the boy band.

"Why not just go with him? He still gave you the tickets. That means good terms, right?" She shook her head.

"No, I can't." she said.

"Well, why not?" he asked.

"Because, that was my date." She pointed out Jin in the group photo. Ryan snorted.

"Okay... sure." He got up and took off his shirt. "So, Eunji, if you don't mind, I would like to take advantage of the crying girl I see before me." Ryan moved his arm, gesturing to his room. "After you." She scoffed and threw the throw pillow at him.

"Shut up. I'm not joking. I don't want to go alone. Can you be my big, manly friend just for one night? I need protection." She batted her eyelids.

"I mean, I could have done that tonight, but you threw the pillow at me again, and I have protection, don't worry." he smirked. Eunji got up and ran for the pillow to hit him with it, but he grabbed it and ran to his room, closing and locking the door. "Goodnight, Ms. Friendzone!"

The next morning, Eunji got a text from Jin.

"Hey ik u still hate me but just a reminder that the show is this Friday and I really want u to be there. ill leave u alone. bring ur roommate that is so helpful. :)" Eunji thew her phone down and covered her face with her pillow.

"Please do not suffocate your self, and wake up." Ryan said, removing the pillow.

"Ever learn to knock?" Eunji responded with a small smile.

"No, but we have classes to get to." Eunji groaned and and rolled out of bed as Ryan tossed her a black sweatshirt. Though, not her usual style, it was Eunji's favorite shirt. She got it at a Blackbear concert a few years back. She slipped it on over her tank top, and shooed Ryan out of the room, so she could get pants. After getting completely ready,  Eunji walked out of her room and grabbed her book bag and guitar case, then both her and Ryan left.

Ryan and Eunji had been friends for years, though they were never really close. They met online during a Twitch livestream. When Ryan found out that Eunji got excepted into Pratt Institute, he was overjoyed, because he was going to the same college. Pratt is located in Brooklyn and Ryan lived in Queens, so he offered to let her stay with him and she gladly excepted. Everyday, Ryan would drive them to the campus and they would attend their classes. He was going for film and she was going for writing. They were the perfect duo. She would help write scripts for his films and they would upload them to Youtube. Everyday for lunch, they would go to 232 Taste of Korea and try something new each time, even if they have to miss a class to meet each other. Eunji promised one day they would get to the cafe.

"What's up, girl? Do you not like your Kim Bap?" Ryan said as Eunji picked at her food. "It has a funny name!" he sang.

"No, I like it, but it's Korean, and Jin is Korean, and now I'm sad." she sighed. Ryan set his fork down and reached over to take Eunji's hand.

"Dude, you'll be fine." he said reassuringly. "It's not a big deal, ya know? Besides," He leaned in closer to her and whispered, "they have small dicks." Eunji smacked him and laughed.

"Shut your mouth!" she growled still hitting him and trying to hold back her smile.

"What? It's true! I'm just saying, you're better off with a black guy."  He grinned and looked down at his phone. "Oh shit! We gotta go!" he said, throwing $35 on the table and dragging Eunji out of the restaurant.

That Friday, they skipped all of their classes to get prepared for the concert.

"Okay, what about this?" Eunji said showing off the outfit she had on.

"Do you think Jin would be happy seeing you walk around in a bra?" he said, quickly gazing at her chest.

"It's not a bra, Ryan. It's a bustier." She put her hands on her hips and looked angrily and him. "And, no I don't. That's the point."

"Eh, it looks like a bra to me." He shrugged. "Whatever, what do you think of my outfit?" he said gesturing to himself.

"Eh, you look like a slob to me." she said in a mocking tone. They both let out exaggerated sighs and walked back into their rooms. "Okay, what about this?"

"Is that my shirt?" Ryan said, taking the hair tie off of it, and letting it fall to full length.

"Take off my bucket hat, you dork!" Eunji said, snatching the hat off of his head. They sighed again, and stomped back to their rooms. Over and over, outfit after outfit, they changed, Picking out every flaw until they finally found the right match.

"Okay what about this?" Ryan asked.

"You actually look good. And me?" Ryan nodded, examining the outfit.

"Yeah. You look good." he paused. "Why are we trying so hard? It's just a bunch of 12 year olds." Eunji shrugged and they continued to get ready for the show.
