Not So Innocent (EGASS sequel)

Chapter 4 - Lizzie

I watch in horror as Joe agrees with Logan and stands up, glaring. I step forward to stop my boyfriend. It wouldn’t do to get in a fight with the new guy on the first day when he didn’t even do anything. Plus, Brett was hot! It would be a shame to mess up his adorable face!

I shake my head at my thoughts. Now’s not the time to be thinking about this!  I tell myself as I lay a hand on Joe’s arm warningly. I narrow my eyes as he shakes me off and stalks forward menacingly.

“Joe!” I say sharply, flinging my arm out in front of him. “If you take one more step, I’ll-”

“You’ll what?” Joe snarls, turning to me. His face softens when he sees my face though. My fear of what he might do must be visible. He takes my face in his hands and kisses my nose softly before staring into my eyes, looking apologetic. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap. Forgive me?”

I nod shakily, gripping his jacket tightly. “It’s ok. Just... Just leave Brett alone, ok? He didn’t exactly barge his way in, did he? It was Daz’s idea to put him in. If Brett hadn’t agreed, we would have only got another guy who had been picked.”

Joe nods and resorts to just glaring at Brett. Speaking of Brett, he looks slightly terrified of Logan who’s being held back by Gabby and Daz.

“Lili, get Rich.” Daz tells my blonde friend who heads towards the door.

“Get Noah. Rich is with my dad.” Gabby shouts while trying to calm down Logan. “Lo, calm down for god’s sake! I swear I’m gonna murder you!”

“Don’t care!” Logan growls, “If he wants to be part of Screaming Innocence, he needs to prove he’s not a wimp.”

“Now, now! Let’s cool it down in here!” Noah exclaims from the door, where he’s watching with amusement. He strolls over to Logan and stands in front of him. “Now, I’m all for beating up the new guy and everything! But we’ve gotta live with him so let’s all calm down! I mean it, Logan. You don’t want to get in a fight with me and you know it!”

I sigh in relief as I watch Logan stop struggling and give up, his shoulders slumping, while he nods. Everyone knows that Logan wouldn’t win in a fight against Noah. Noah has way too much experience from when he used to get in fights every other day at school.

Gabby and Daz let go of Logan and Noah moves out of the way. Lili moves forward and says, “Now, I-”

“LOGAN!”

Gabby’s scream rings in my ears as Logan leaps forward as soon as Noah’s out the way and crashes into Brett. Noah swears colourfully, and some part of my brain immediately wonders whether his kid’s first word will be a swear word considering how much he and Lili swear, before diving into the fight.

Joe pulls Lili away from the fight and towards the door, knowing that Noah would kill him if he let something happen to my best friend. I have to laugh when Gabby stamps her foot and starts yelling at Logan but he pays no attention whatsoever to her.

I hear Noah’s deep voice swearing at Logan and turn just in time to see my favourite bad-boy lose his temper and punch Logan straight in the mouth.

“Hey!” Gabby shrieks, “Be careful! He needs those lips to kiss me!”

Noah looks at Gabby and says cruelly, “That’s all he’s ever done with those lips, isn’t it? Poor little Gabby, not getting any!”

I see Gabby blush in embarrassment and humiliation before turning away. Everyone knows that Gabby isn’t confident about showing people her body and that Logan had promised her that they would take things slowly and we’re always teasing them about it but I think Noah’s actually reduced her to tears. Lili opens her mouth to scold Noah but before she can say anything-

WHAM!

Logan hits Noah square in the eye and watches as Noah grabs his face in pain before saying, “That’s for making my girlfriend cry, you ba-”

Logan doesn’t get to finish his comment, and I’m glad he doesn’t because it sounds like he wasn’t going to call Noah anything PG rated, because at that moment Noah gets to his feet and kicks the back of Logan’s knees to make him collapse. Logan swears in pain and rolls over, managing to knock both Noah and Brett over while doing so.

Daz had slowly been making his way to the door for the past 5 minutes, trying not to get hit by a fist or foot. He finally reaches us and glares at the fight going on in the middle of his office before storming out the room. I hear him yelling for Rich and know it’s only a matter of minutes before our favourite security guard turns up in all his muscular glory. However, I see Lili has her own ideas.

“That’s it!” Lili grumbles, grabbing the jug of water off the side. Gabby, Joe and I all watch in awe as Lili simply turns the jug upside down over the fighting boys’ heads and covers them in water. The three boys pause mid-fight, looking comical with their fists still raised and shocked expressions, before standing up slowly and turning as one to stare at Lili.

Lili grins sheepishly, looks at Gabby and I and states, “I think we’ll be off now. RUN GIRLS!”

Helloooo again! :D Emily’s updating straight after me tonight so you have two chapters for being so patient! We’re entering EGASS in the Watty Awards so please get your friends to read it too so we can have a good chance at winning! :D Alex has been bullying Emily and me to write so we put our film night on hold to write these chapters :D We went to see ‘The Lucky One’ today as well!
